Your day is almost here you must be so excited! when do you leave?

We leave on Saturday. I picked up my dresses tonight and everything is beginning to come together. I will ask my WC and see what she says. Thanks.

We're leaning towards individual booking, it seems the group rates might have some hidden costs to us, but not sure. Just trying to figure all this out!
We went with individual booking through our TA. The reason being for group rates everyone has to put a deposit down. I was not sure how responsible our group would be with that lol and we were not comfortable with fronting the money for everyone.

I have to say individual booking worked out great. We let everyone know that rates change all the time but they just keep going up and that our TA would match any other on line sites if they pay in full. This got everyone booking very quickly and handling their own plans , less stress for me lol

Same here! I didn't want to be responsible for any missed deposits.

Ok, I retract my statement...lisa, get married in TX if you want to avoid any potential headaches but your marriage will be legal if you get married in Mexico. Do get the marriage certificate translated before you leave the Royal!! We didn't do that. Do your research and see if the SS, DMW and your company will accept translated marriage certificate if you want to change your last name.

We are just going to get our marriage certificate translated then leave it alone. We are married. Nobody can tell us that we are not.

Our TA actually got a group rate from Royal a specific number of days that we selected. Each person paid the TA a deposit on their own. It ended up being that most people wanted to stay longer LOL so we ended up cancelling the contract but the Royal still honored the rates for those who did book the dates we contracted for the group. They did give it to us slightly cheaper than if each person booked individually. If anyone found a package cheaper on line she also honored it and took like $10 off if they paid in full.

In my experience its much better to work with a TA because they can keep you informed with all your guests booking status' but also tell your guests to do their own research so that they get the best deal possible.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
