Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Ok so here is my dilema...... A friend of mine is a semi-pro photographer who is trying to build her resume so i suggested flying her in the day before my September 25 wedding and having her be my photographer for the wedding.

I guess my question is should I pay for the wedding package with the prints included and just use Juan as my photographer?? How long does Juan usually stay with his brides? I would love for my friend to come and take the pics that way we get a few days worth of pics. OR should i just save the $$ and go with Juan??

What do you Dreams brides think?

I sent an email to Claudia a few months back telling her I didn't want to use Juan because i was going to fly my own photog in from Canada & Claudia responded back telling me there were NO outside vendors allowed & told me how great of a photographer Juan is. I was very disappointed as i am pretty sure i wouldn't have been the first to bring in a photographer. Weird how they always have different responses for different brides? sad.gif

Regardless I cancelled my photographer...

Anyway, before you cancel out Juan i would check with Claudia about briniging in your own. She may let it happen but she didn't for me so I am using Juan for the wedding day & a Cancun photographer for my TTD a couple days later.

Yes I told Cecilia that my photographer was a paying guest and she didn't make me pay a vendor fee at all. No one told me I couldn't have her there. They actually were really accommodating with my photographer...letting her go back into areas of the resort to get shots for my book, etc. Cecilia was very accommodating. Not sure why Claudia would tell you that.

Hi Ladies,

I flew my photographers down there so I'm also quite confused why Claudia would have said that. I had Claudia as my WC and I told her I was opting out the photography, but I didn't tell her why and if anyone asked I would tell them that they are my friends just taking pictures. They didn't say anything during the ceremony or reception about them taking pictures.

I don't know why she told me no outside vendors...they seem to be so random with the answers to requests we have. She didn't even give me the option of paying an outside vendor fee. It was "No outside vendors, We have a great resort photographer" with a link to juans website. Bizarre but all water under the bridge as i could care less anymore....I just want to be in Mexico NOW!!!!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
