I think there are a couple of threads dedicated to this. Try a search of the forum and you'll find great reviews on some of these knock off online companies!

I got mine on Ebay from one of those sellers. It was $120 custom. Check out this thread for reviews on different sellers :)

We paid $210/hr for the DJ (looks like rates went up!). As for the bar...I'm pretty sure we were charged for the National Bar option ($12/person/hour)but we had a full bar at the reception...Karla never asked us what kind of bar we wanted at our meeting and it didn't occur to me until the day after the wedding!

I have just been quoted $8 for the two hours for the Special coctails at poolside reception....beer, wine, margheritas & something else. Also $190 per hour for the DJ.....however DJ Bijan from Mayan vibes has quoted me $150 per hour & I know a couple of brides from here who have had him on here & swankster is having him tomorow & they all say he is fantastic. Originally from New York so speaks english & Jazmin at Tulum has said it is ok that I book him so that is what I am going to do!!

We had the Special Cocktails which includes beer, sparkling wine, pina coladas and margaritis only. $5 per person for the 1st hour, $3 for each additional hour per person.

So it was $8 per person for the 2 hour reception. It was WELL more than enough... if people wanted other drinks, they could go to the lobby bar for other drinks.

Hi Jjohnson30, there are different sizes of bouquet, I paid $36 for a small one, they look absolutely gorgeous and it's not to small at all :)

Okay GBP Brides.... I need to be talked down off the ledge. Can you help?

We are leaving in less than 3 weeks for our wedding at the Tulum part of the resort, on July 7th, and I am starting to have major anxiety. I'm not too worried about the wedding, it sounds like everything always seems to work out and that Jazmin is great.

I am starting to panic about the resort itself. We have 46 people coming with us (way more than we expected) and we have never been to the resort. I've been having nightmares about the resort being disappointing, guests hating it and everyone getting sick.

I went onto tripadvisor to try and make myself feel better... bad idea. I know there are always negative reviews about every resort, but it seems like the negative ones about GBP Tulum are increasing... maybe it just seems that way because I am paranoid.

Can anyone who has stayed at the resort help to set my mind at ease?

Mind, be at ease!

Seriously! It's an AMAZING resort with something for everything. Every one of my guests loved it, and a lot of them didn't want to stay there in the first place, so to change someone's opinion... that takes a lot.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
