irisheyes...In my case it took a long time until they confirmed my date (over 2 weeks), not to mention that they booked the wrong one as well.

They are extremely busy with weddings at DLR so they dont always answer back to your e-mail on time.

What I found worked for me was to put in the title of the e-mail the word "Urgent". Hope that helps.

I hope you book your wedding with DLR...its an amazing resort :)

xoxo

Before I went down to China Town, I was going to go with this site: Paper Lanterns, Party Supplies and Chinese Paper Lanterns - PaperLanternStore.com

I love their variety and you can't beat the prices! I've got two other sites that you can peruse if you want to as well.
Paper Lanterns - Home, Party, Wedding
Paper Lanterns, Paper Lantern Lamps, Paper Lanterns Wedding

Each of the last two sites I LOVED for different reasons as well! the last one even gives you decorating ideas for using paper lanterns!

Hope these help!
Thanks so much :) How many did you get in total and how many different sizes?

Amy, you and I also live close to one another; where did you get yours from; how much did you pay for them and how many did you get in total?

Thanks girls

Hi Irisheyes good to have some one else from Ireland, I'm getting married there in just over three weeks and this forum has been fantastic. Who are you booking your wedding through? I booked mine through Caribbean Warehouse after haggling the prices between them and Caribbean Collection and managed to get our 2 weeks £500 cheaper than Thomas Cooks website, even though we are actually flying with Thomas Cook. I was having the same problem with trying to tie down a date (I've since realised the Wedding Corordinator deals with hundreds of weddings and therefore has to prioritise them in order of wedding date) but the travel agent was able to get the date and time confirmed for us, they have also helped out on other issues as well. I would highly recommend them.

Enjoy your planning and welcome to the forum welcome4.gif

I shared mine, I think we used either the 24 or 30 inch ones and only had 9 inside (wanted 15-20). The person that bought them got a bunch of different sizes and colors, 30, 24, 16, 10 and 8 inch ones i believe from asian ideas.

Thanks for replying girls, it's very frustrating waiting for a reply, i just want to book it all now, no patience at all. I'll wait a few more days and try again! Also anyone who is going with the free basic wedding package, how many nights did you have to book in order to qualify for it??

Yeah lizzyjayne, i saw that you were from Ireland as i was reading through this thread, are you all organised for your big day now? We're not sure who we're booking it through yet, trailfinders have given us the best quote so far. Where are you flying out from? We'll have to go through Gatwick or Paris as there are no direct flight from Dublin. I rang the caribbean warehouse earlier and the price is working out more or less the same as going through a travel agent here, but we'd have to book our own flights to Manchester. How did you manage to haggle with them, i always thought the prices were set?? Tell me your secret!!

Hello Irisheyes,

I am going with the free wedding package as well (Dreams Wedding in Paradise Package). On their site, it says:

"This package (Dreams Wedding in Paradise Package) is complimentary when booking a booking an Ocean Front Suite or higher for a minimum of 7 nights or if 5 rooms are reserved for a minimum of 3 nights in any room category.

Did you not receive attachments of the Menus, Wedding Packages and Extras yet? If not, I can e-mail them to you if you give me your e-mail address.

xoxo Bee

Thanks Pink_petals, i'd seen that on their website, but then a travel agent said that if you book a partial ocean view room for 14 nights you also qualify for the free wedding. Maybe it's an agreement with with this particular travel agent? Trying to convince the hubby-to-be that a suite will be worth the extra money, sure if you can't spend it on your weeding/honeymoon when can ya? Yeah it'd be great if you could email me on some info. My email address is lisal83@hotmail.com.

Welcome Irisheyes and Miss Taken!--- I know that this is going to sound crazy, but you should really try and read the last 100 or so pages! Believe me when I say, you will have answered the majority of your questions, seen a bunch of pics, gotten great ideas AND replaced your old questions with new ones!!

Amy -- Thanks for the clarification with the wine; that's one less thing to have to worry about :)

Pink Petals-- I'm using the lanterns as my centerpieces so I only needed 10 of them. For the gazeebo decor I'm going with traditional white tulle draping and then using blue and green parasols at the end of each row to add a punch of colour!

FYNIAC --loved the review!! Welcome back and congratulations!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
