Hello everyone! I'm a May 2011 bride as well! Have my invites sent out as well as most of my oot bag items purchased. Now that we officially have a thread I'm thinking the time is getting closer FAST! I haven't gotten a dress yet though - I'd better get movin'!

Wow! This thread is really gathering steam! So good to see how many people are joining!

The invite/save the date thing is really stressing me out. My fiance is FINALLY finishing up his (extensive) guest list, so we are getting ready to send the save the dates (my list has been finished for well over two months...sigh...) I really wanted to send them out one year in advance. We're planning to send out the invites in September/October. I'm almost wondering what the point is now! Seems like we should just bite the bullet and send out the invites now.

Ah well. The save the dates are finished, so I think we'll just have to move forward with our original plan...

The problem is I am SUCH a planner, and my fiance is a last minute guy. This obviously can cause some stress when I need him to do something wedding-related. He just doesn't see what the rush is...LOL...

Hi everyone

We are getting married May 28, 2011 at ROR @ 4PM. Can't believe it is less than a year. Haven't really done anything except our STD. Here it is...

I am in the process of booking my photographer. I am using Cecilia Dumas.. she has great reviews and the price is good! She wants a 10% down payment to reserve the date. She asked me to wire the money to her bank and gave me the account number and such. Has anyone ever wired money before? How does it work? I'm assuming this in not weird to wire money to vendors, is it?

Wiring money is easy. Just go to your bank and tell them you would like to wire money and you just need the name on the account and the account number and name of the bank. There is normally a fee associated with it. Good luck and congrats on locking down a photog!

hmmm... perhaps check out some past reviews from brides here on each of those resorts and the resort's overall rating and amenities on tripadvisor?

just take some time to discover what each resort has to offer vs. what you wish to have & the tone you want to set for your wedding.

=)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
