Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

My FI is buying his white linen suit from Island Importer. They said they can custom make his suit.. we are excited about that! We bought our GM white linen pants at marshalls for 30.00 they are calvin klein.. we ended up buying the guys a fuchsia/white striped shirt to match the BM's. They were with a sale 40.00 each. We also bought the guys white leather kenneth cole sandals at the outlet.. I personally love them! The only prob is the FI cant fit into the EXPRESS MENS shirts so we have to have his tailor custom make his shirt!!pinkie.gif

Hi ladies!

I have a question I'm hoping you can answer as my FI and I don't totally agree on the colour of the shirt he should wear.

Did any of you (or are any of you planning to) have your groom's shirt match the colour of the bridesmaids dresses? My bm's dresses are turqouise and we found a men's dress shirt in the exact colour. To be a little different, I think it would be cool to have my groom wear that colour as his shirt, and then the groomsmen to just wear white shirts. Anyone done this? I know most grooms wear a white shirt and maybe have the groomsmen wear coloured shirts but I just thought it would be nice to switch it up a little!

If you did this, can you post pictures??

I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!!!

I've seen that done before and I thought it looked really nice. Unfortunately I don't have a picture..but I say if you like it and the FI agrees...then do it! But if he doesnt want to wear it then maybe have the groomsmen wear it??

I love looking at everyone great outfits! I have a question though....

Is/Did anyone have a groom wear shorts? Amazingly I am the one who thinks he should consider it. Nice shorts with a white shirt just sounds more comfortable for him, and we are going to be quite casual. I am wearing a nice dress, but it is a destination style and not too dressy. He doesn't have any groomsman.

Just wondering if anyone else did the shorts thing for the groom and how did they feel about it? We are getting married in Aruba and I also need to look into whether the officiants would have a problem shorts on the beach.

Thanks ladies!

I've seen it done and it definitely looks nice. I think given your description that it should totally work. I was thinking the same, but some of my groomsmen have fugly legs. lol. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
