UGH!!!!!

Oh, I got my guests to finally start booking by telling them I called the hotel and it's over half full already. Hehe. What they don't know doesn't hurt them.....
I am going to try and take it all with us. If not, then my parents will take some. I am not too worried about customs (right now anyway). I hope I will be ok. I am trying not to think about it since I already bought everything, but I don't think we will have a problem bring down. I thought about shipping it down to Aruba but it is insanely expensive to ship things down there.

HA! I love it! I should start tell people that! That should either get them to book or be honest with me if they aren't really going.

I basicly told my guests that after 6/15 the group rate is not longer available--can't guarentee price or space. Which was mostly true....we where going to release them back to hotel and get my deposits back. Heard from my TA yesterday that there is only one room left in the block we reserved! Yeah!!

As far as shipping down to mexico, customs etc---there are some very informative threads on here. I won't be shipping anything due to one post I read about them "burning" entire shipment because there was something not allowed. Sounds like taking your chances at customs and having all reciepts is the best bet.

That's exactly how I feel! I have a feeling some just aren't going, but keep telling us they are. JUST SAY SO!!! :) But hopefully this will spur them into action, whatever that action may be!

Yeah I'm going to brave it through customs w/ my receipts for the most part. I think I'll ship one box with vases (cheap ones) and some stuff like that. If it doesn't make it then I can deal. :)

Hey Girls, I just bought a 2nd dress tonight. Its for the ttd I'm set on doing; I bought it on craigslist and when I told the girl what it was for, she begged me to send pics (she had a 2nd dress). as soon as I get pics downloaded, I'll add. its soo different from my dress, much more elegant (mine is more fun). I think I'll take part of the lining out so it is a little lighter weight and cooler.

I'm going to do cups, first aid/hangover kits and aloe stuff but not food/liquor for the oot bags and plan to take receipts with me. I'm trying to limit how much I have to take down, DW are supposed to be easy after all!!!

happy weekend all!!

So far (Iâ€m not done yet) we got mini liquor bottles (5 different bottles per bag and we have 12 bags), puzzle books, the bags from Vistaprint, bug repellent wipes, and Advil and Aleve. I still need to get mini sunscreen, mints, small bags of chips and bags of the new M&M Pretzels.

Ha, I hope we donâ€t have an issue with getting everything there. The only other things we need to bring with us (other then our wedding attire) is the sand ceremony frame and vases, the sand, and the favors (personalized playing cards). All the other decorations and things will be at the resort. I have my parents saving their extra suitcases for us if we need it. I know my suitcase will be overflowing with just vacation stuff and my FIâ€s will be packed too so I will have to have at least one extra suitcase, if not 2.
Us too... We have a small group of people coming to the wedding so we thought we go crazy with the gifts. I don't have everything yet since I don't have the total count... bag, beach towel, hand sanitizer, sun screen, etc. We are carrying it all in our bag. I asked my WC about shipping some stuff ahead of time but she didn't recommend shipping boxes to Mexico. In case it gets lost...

Thanks everyone. Mexico102, its very different from my wedding dress. my dress is much more fun than elegant. heres my original dress: David's Bridal - Strapless Faille Gown with Sweetheart Draped Bodice

Runningbride, I've been watching craigslist and bought that dress for about 100!!! it still had the tags. Now I have to stop looking for dresses, I don't need any more.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
