I can't wait to go dress shopping!! Thats something I have a little more control over!!

Thanks!! I love it!! It look me 4 months to find my dress! I probably tried on close to 100 dresses!

As far as the resort I don't have pricing for air as that has not come out yet, i just went off pricing for this year as I figured it wouldn't be going up too much in a year from now. And as much as i want it to be affordable for my guests I want to love the resort as it's my wedding! Whoever cant come fine, whoever can great! I'm not letting anyone ruin my day! :) Hope you find your resort soon!! And dress shopping can be fun! It wasn't so much for me because i felt i had such a hard time finding my dress! And i didn't actually buy my dress at a store, I bought it from someone who purchased it back in Sept and then changed her mind about it. I found it on another forum. So GOOD LUCK!!! I'm sure you'll find the perfect one!

Hey girls! I am getting married at The Valentin Imperial Maya on May 10, 2011!!!

I am starting to become concerned with the oil spill in the gulf of mexico though. It has not been fixed. Any word on how the beaches will look if it wont be fixed soon? Maybe it wont touch Mexico and will just head up toward the east. Anyone else thinking about this??

I've been thinking about the oil spill a lot as well.. i'm an avid scuba diver and the amount of damage it is doing makes me literally feel sick to the stomach. I really hope it doesn't wash up on the beaches and shores... i think the riviera maya area will be okay but honestly who know...?!?

I like your attitude... whoever can come will come and thats fine! I can't help feeling like I'm asking too much from friends and family if I pick an expensive resort though.

I just got some pricing from my TA. Dreams Tulum will be about $1950/person for a week. Grand Palladium will be about $1500/person for a week. DT was my initial choice... but I can't help think that it will be almost $1000 more expensive per couple.

Its so hard to choose when every resort looks so beautiful. A trip to mexico to do site visits would solve all my problems right now! hehhe if only money weren't an issue!

I hear ya we're not doing a site visit to our resort either. And as much as you want to make it affordable for everyone you have to choose the place you love. If you love both of them then go with the cheaper one, if not go with DT. Is there a requirement for your guests to stay at the resort where the wedding is being held at? If not then let them know they are more then welcomed to stay at another hotel of their liking but there will be a fee for a day pass.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
