So FI and groomsmen have voted for beach party now. I'm debating between Mannia and resort DJ which is only $250?? DJ Mania is $800 for 4 hours including lighting etc.

Thanks again Tracy for the info. How was your DJ?

Steph, how did you like the DJ? We initially thought the same thing about having the private restuarant, but I think we are leaning towards the beach if we can have a dance floor, which DJ Mannia does have.

Thanks again!

Hi ladies!

I just thought that I should give you girls a head's up if your plan is to have a legal ceremony next April or May (2011). Our wedding has been confirmed with the hotel and the judge for April 12, 2011 as of 2 weeks ago. However, my travel agent (who is also a wedding coordinator and is phenomenal) said that when she spoke to the judge two weeks ago, he commented on how he was almost completely booked for April and May next year already and he only opens his books 12 months ahead of time.

So unless you want to be married at 10 am or something, book soon!!! Hope that helps :)

Hi! Not sure how I missed this post! I really like the idea of parasols, my FI thinks it's kind of cheesy. How did they work out for you? They look so pretty and I love how your bridesmaid's look came together!!

Your so right just extra weight for the cake cutting server.. I'm surprised it's something I did get back!!
I didn't get candle holders back(but they were $$$$) nor some tea light candles with the batteries. That's about it, I brought the sand ceremony with me when I went to go get changed in my parents room.

LOL yah the jugde said his little speach after we were legal, then seriously ran off to the next ceremony that is when the SIL came up and did her speech that I wrote on cue cards for her.. I think I still have it if you want it/need it.

Ohh I want to see your cake!! What colour did you pick for the ribbon, if you even got ribbon...
here is mine...

I'm July 17! Are you feeling like I am and finally trying to get it all together? I've waited because I always felt like it was too early to really plan the actual wedding stuff, but now it's around the corner and I'm like shoot! Better plan as much as I can! lol. But not stressed, just excited. THANK GOD for this site though. Without you girls, I have no idea what would have happened! Although FI says(in a kind/fun way), without you girls, we would have saved a bundle and I wouldn't have a tone of DIY projects. lol.!!

Aww, that's great because the beach party was the time of my life ( and I use to be a party girl lol) My fav part was when we all got to hot we'd dunk our feet and legs in the ocean to cool off. How better can it get!
Yes our dj was $250, he was real good!! But If you want the dance floor you'll have to go with Mania, see if you can get a quoet for 3 hours instead of 4, since the beach party is good for 3 hours only.

I brought the seashell candle holders (which were meant for the guest table) but she had enough scattered around the table she threw this on the cake table, turned out perfect. You can bring a few things and let her know what you want on that table! I also brought the cake cutting server and cake topper.

Oh MY I was totally stressed!!!! But I also had last min guest coming, which then had to make up all of thier OOT bags, which is very time consuming.
LOL!!!!!!!!! Yah DH said the same, who could have so gone with out me doing half of the DIY. I counted the labels I made (12 of them for everything)

Ok...first, I have a little problem because I've been sitting here all morning anxiously awaiting replys. lol. :) Thanks! Now I can start my morning. lol

I'm wondering if they will extend the party to 4 hours.

Where did you get those holders? I really like them!

I am doing 50 OOT bags...umm...it's getting a little out of hand. lol.

Sorry!! I'm a late sleeper lol!! I always wake up around 12! Until I start a new job (whenever that might be) lol

You could always ask, maybe they will charge you a little more to have the bar open for an extra hour, but if your willing to pay, I wouldn't see the problem.

How many holder's are you looking for?!

I got them at weddingstar.com 3 for $8.

Whoa! Sorry I've been MIA for a while, I've been a little sick.
The parasols were perfect, I wanted something different rather than flowers like EVERYBODY has, so I went with something that would keep the sun off them, but then when I got down there, I got them each a flower as well.

I thought they might get on the girls nerves but it was actually raining a little when they walked down the aisle, and when they got into the gazebo, they just put them down on the floor, they weren't annoying at all, like I thought they would be! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
