That was my way of thinking and then I started reading about all these things that others are doing and started to panic! Thanks for setting me straight and knocking me back to reality!! Trust since planning a wedding I need it some times!!

Everyone's experiences are different. Our guests and us didn't find any of the problems that Erica did. Remember to take all reviews with a grain of salt.. good or bad :)

just back from Bahia for daughters wedding...the wedding was at the Tulum Gazebo-BEAUTIFUL-our dinner was switched last minute to Don Pablos--BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED--it is beautiful and the meal was the best i have had at the bahia in the 7 years we have been going and the presentation was first class... Had DJ BOB-he is worth EVERY PENNY! He made our reception!! Our photographer was Arrecife Studio--on facebook--He was PERFECT..I will post pics tomorrow--it was better than i could have imagined!

I'm also using DJ Bijan with Mayan Vibes... my wedding is in 2 weeks so I'll be sure write a review!

Yes, you cannot use an outside vendor for photography unless they are a guest staying at the resort.

As for excursions... we decided to take 2.. and let people know the details in case they want to join us (out of their pocket)... so if people want to come with us they can.. or they can do their own thing. Most actually want to come with so it's working out good so far.

I want to write a planning thread but I'm not sure if I'll have time.. if so I'll link to it here..

Oh my goodness.....two weeks, I bet you are so excited!!

Did the resort charge you for bringing in an outside DJ? & how late can you have him there for..............also does the resort then charge you a separate fee for setting up the reception location?

Sorry ladies, I just shout out a little and hope you don't mind me being side tracked!! I had my "mayhem" bachelorette party last night and it was such a blast!! I've been trying to cut back on sugar and geez I think I've consumed more than 2 months worth of sugar in just one night!!! I've been to numerous staggette parties and I felt completely different when it comes to my very own!!! It's going to last me forever!! Now I'm really getting nervous for the trip down to MR, I promised I'll write a review when I come back in return of all your help and kindness!!!! xoxoxo!!

Hey waybuloo.....Jazmin didn't charge me a separate charge for bringing in a DJ.....I believe she told me that they can play as late as 11 but I can refer back to my emails and let you know for sure.
Your paying for a separate reception...poolside right?? She will charge us for the drinks and food is we decide to have food....no separate charge for the set up that I am aware of.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
