Did you get your hair and make up done in the room? Did you stay in the suite? If so do you have any pictures of the room? When we did our site visit we were transfixed with the Villa but ultimately have decided against the villa in lieu of the suite for more privacy.
Haha, I WISH we had stayed in the Suite!!! It was out of our price range. We stayed in a Deluxe room, one of the middle ones that juts out the farthest on the second floor. It was very spacious and we loved it! Only no jacuzzi tub sad.gif

Right now hair/makeup/nails is done in a converted suite, Room 701 if I recall. By the time you have your wedding the brand new spa might be open. It's set to open in 2011. Lucky you!!!

I don't think it would be a big deal if there were. They're not building a brand new structure. They're converting one they already have (a theater area). So it's not like there'd be any big cranes or bulldozers.

Ohhh I know exactly where you are talking about! I asked Mayra about that room...seemed like they should use that for something! Thanks! This was so helpful!!

No other restaurants are reservation only. You wouldn't have to make previous reservations unless you wanted a bunch of people to eat together, then they have to arrange tables and whatnot.

I wrote my entire ceremony word for word and had personal vows as well. We also included a hand ceremony in there and opted out of the sand ceremony. My WC let me know the minister may ask "Who gives away this woman" even though I had not put it in my ceremony and she did, glad I was forewarned about this because my Uncle (who gave me away) came up with a good response.

Yep, we were late to the ceremony rehersal on the Sky Deck but made it up there and did it in the dark regardless, which was actually pretty fun. When I say dark, I mean DARK. The moon wasn't showing for any light but it took less than 10 minutes and everyone had a blast. I was planning to do a reception entrance rehersal but forgot, we still did the entrance just reverse the order and dance in, simple!

Does AB (or AS) allow vendors such as hair and makeup people come if its not from them or LOMAS? Also do flowers and stuff have to come from LOMAS?
I used neither, based on past bad reviews and me and my Type A thing going on. I decided to buy good makeup, practice and do it myself. Interesting enough, people asked me who did my makeup because they loved it! My hairdresser is a long-time friend who ended up coming to the wedding and doing my hair so I got lucky.

Just so you AS girls know... there is some sort of construction there every day. I'm not kidding something is always being fixed, repaired etc. It didn't ruin anyone's stay or upset or inconvenience anyone. No one even mentioned it to me, it's just very obvious.

It was symbolic - so I decided that we'd just find someone else to do the ceremony if we can into trouble with the minister!

For you AB ladies, I was just reading on tripadvisor that AB is about to start construction in August. More than what I just mentioned about the spa. Apparently they're revamping the rooms and expanding the resort to bring the total count to 128 rooms (adding 30 rooms). I think it said Aug-Dec 2010. Most of our AB brides on here don't have weddings until 2011, but Sara's (dirtymartini) is in November this year.

We also added a reading for my sister in law to read. It really was beautiful. Unfortunately since it rained on us, they weren't able to use the microphone, so people could hardly hear what was said, so I emailed all of our guests the ceremony and I plan on printing it out and putting it on display at our AHR. As for a rehearsal, we didn't think this was necessary. The WC gives everyone the run down before the ceremony begins and there was no confusion.
Hmm... Do I need to request for microphone? I thought it comes with the ceremony package. No? Do I need to ask my WC?

I love this idea. I found so many great ceremony script and sand ceremony script. We are not religious so we wouldn't feel comfortable using something that refers to religion. Thanks!

I guess I have to talk to my WC to schedule the ceremony rehearsal. Sounds fun doing it at night :)

I am really no good at make-up. I was going to do the trial run. I hope I like it cause I don't have much option if I don't like it. I might have to start practicing...just in case.

Haha. We are staying in the Jr Jacuzzi Suite in AS. Figure there is no need to spend money on the room that we are not planning to stay in too long. I heard that bridal suite has max occupancy of 3 or 4. Doesn't sound fun if I can't have anyone else to join me as I get ready.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
