I know it's been awhile and let me tell you the horror story I went through with Andrew. But to make it short, some of you know we broke up in January, just 3 months before our wedding. Things weren't right at the time BUT we reconciled and ELOPED in Las Vegas. I know, so cliche but the situation was just right. I had already switched my plane tix from Cancun to las vegas and Andrew came last minute and everything was just so perfect.

I'm still not out of the water yet with the whole wedding planning. My parents a throwing me a vow renewal/ wedding reception in August to honor our families, that's so nice of them. And hubby and I still haven't had our official honeymoon yet lol (we're thinking Bora Bora). Everything is so backwards but I don't care... I married my bestfriend wink.gif

So congrats once again to all. I have to catch up to all I have missed these past few months.
It's good to hear from you again. I was wondering what happened to you. I'm glad things have worked out for the both of you. Congratulations!

It's been very quiet here lately. Guess everyone's getting back to their "normal" lives after all the wedding stuff and AHR's. I've enjoyed looking at everyone's pictures and reading the reviews.

I'm not having an AHR. My family was lucky that I decided to have a semi-destination wedding that some of them could attend. I truly wanted to run off to Hawaii or something, just the two of us. But, that would have upset some of my closest family, so I opted for the cruise wedding. We had a wedding videographer, so we just decided to make copies of the wedding DVD and send them to people that could not make it to the wedding, but really wanted to come.

I've gotten my Thank You Cards mailed out (we decided to do Photo Cards with a few of our wedding photos). I finished up our photo share site on shutterfly last night. You can check it out if you like http://kennethandnatashaswedding.shutterfly.com/. The site password is Glory2010. I also finally finished up my wedding review a few days ago http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ts-pics-59433/.

Last things to do are going through all of my extra wedding stuff and possibly selling it and I need to find a good dry cleaner to clean my dress and maybe preserve it.

So, what has everyone else been up to? How is married life treating everyone?

Nice job on the shutterfly spread! In your pictures it looks like you guys were having so much fun! I love it!! For the whole group shot, did you really have that many people go on the cruise with you? If so I'm impressed!

Same here, we've been trying to return to a normal life. Every weekend I send out some thank you's, and I already took my dress to get cleaned. I was hoping to sell it but they couldn't get the stain out. I gave them permission to try a really harsh chemical, so fingers crossed!

Other than that we're in the throws of planning our AHR. I went decoration shopping today, and we have a cupcake tasting tomorrow. Mmmmmmmm.

OMG!!! I'm so happy that things have worked out for you!! Hubby and I had some really difficult problems just before our wedding as well and even though we didn't get to the point of calling it off, I can kind of relate as to how it feels once you do get married and know that it's the right thing despite all the problems.

And let me tell you how much I *LOVE LOVE LOVE* your little white dress that you wore! It is SO cute and looks great on you!

It's wonderful how accepting your family is being and I'm sure will be lots of fun to have your reception later in summer with the rest of your family.

CONGRATS!!!!

Oh yes we can relate to the 'problems' in the relationship pre wedding. It's so stressful and you turn around and there they are so of course you'll take it out on them. I think I called the wedding off a couple of times (Husband never believed tho me lol)

I can also relate after getting married and knowing you made the right decision.

Feels amazing!!!

I'll go through your pics during the day today Nat, so excited to see them.. I also plan on finishing my review today. You even got your review done!!! I look bad now that I've been back for more then a month and it's still not up!

Good for you!!! :) :)

Aww thanks for asking Nat, and for remembering, I just had my pre opt appt yesterday, and was suppose to find out the date of the actual surgery, but it's still unknow.

I got all the instructions, and it looks like after the surgery I'll be on bed rest for a min of 7 days (I'm not good just lying in bed!!!) Keep you all posted though!! :)

I've got all my thank you card's sent out. I was saying my mom convince me to have an AHR (but I'm not planning this one... only making the cup cake tower lol) My mom and rest of the family is taking care of this one.

We decided, we're buying a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Next July. So I've decided to take a job (part time) to pay a few of my own bills to free up the cash. Still have to do interviews though (but found a few only english jobs!!!)

Big changes going on over here. But all very exciting.

Sounds like a lot, but really isn't, feel so bored!!! but yet so lazy in a way still.

I guess still a little lost lol.

Wendy,

excited to hear all about the AHR and how it goes!!!!

Thanks Wendy! All of the people in the photo did not cruise with us, only 13 did. The others had to get off the ship before it left the port. We did have fun, but we were sooo exhausted after taking all of those pictures. The poses felt so weird, but it was worth it for the pics we got.

Hope the cleaners will be able to get that stain out of your dress. I hope I can find a dry cleaner to get the "stains" out of my dress. The bustles broke on my dress after doing so many weird poses for the pics, so I was just dragging that train all over the ship and it got pretty dirty

Enjoy those cupcakes!!

Thanks Tracy! I was so happy with the photos and pleasantly surprised since I had no idea who the photographer would be until the day of the wedding.

I hope everything goes well with your surgery. I would absolutely go crazy if I had to stay in bed for 7 days too.

Congrats on deciding to get a house!!! I can tell you it is a great feeling to own your own house and be able to do whatever you want with it.

Good luck with the job hunt too!

Hi ya ladies! It's amazing how much of a ghost town this thread has become. I wonder if all the monthly threads go through this as we all get back to normal life as we know it?

I've been missing feeling like a bride lately. Anyone else? I don't miss the stress or planning, but I do miss being a bride! I have a friend who's just starting the wedding planning and I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous. LOL not of the trying months ahead but of that radiant, I'm-getting-married feeling.

I was so excited yesterday because I got to have a little bit of that when I went to the florist :) I had been dealing with our cupcake person all day (who's really making me angry) and wasn't in the best of moods. In addition to the cupcakes, I'm having a small cutting cake for our AHR and wanted to stop at a florist for a cake topper. The lady was soooooo nice and friendly and easy and everything we want our vendors to be but aren't! She was so excited for me and couldn't have cared less that all I wanted was a cake topper and a single vase arrangement. She treated me like I was having the grandest wedding and just overall made me smile. So I just wanted to share!

The AHR planning is moving right along! The menu is set, the slide show is done, the guestbook is figured out, and decorations are done. And I even think we found a cook! There's a grill on the party barge so we're thinking pork loin and chicken, but we didn't want to be stuck cooking, nor did we want to ask a friend to do it. Now all we have to figure out is what other kind of alcohol to have besides a keg. Hmmmm.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
