Moon Palace 2011 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies,

I have booked my photographer. My photographers are from Moments that Matter photography. I'm super excited because I've pretty much too care of all the big stuff. I have sent to print my invitations which should be arriving within the next few days. All that is left to do from the BIG to do list is the DJ. Any of you ladies know anything on the quality of the DJ's from Moon Palace? I've checked the forums for recommendations on DJ's but all of the threads are pretty old, from like 2008. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

You've booked your photographer already?!? I sent an email to Tamms Photography months ago and never got a response. I didn't follow-up on it because I assumed that it was waaaaayyyy too early. Now I feel like such a slacker! I'd better get back on it. I really like Moments That Matter too. Maybe I should go with them....hmmmm.....

I sure did! I didn't want to gamble with it. I love moments that matter photography and reserved right away. It's never too early, especially if you really want something. My wedding isn't for another year and 5 months and I've booked my venue, photographer, Invites are all done and I'm in the process of booking with a DJ. I want to get done as much as possible so I don't have to worry much as the date gets closer

No worries...most MP brides have had this concern, including me. My Miami WC usually takes about a week to respond to my emails. The brides with dates that are approaching get priority. Apparently, slow emails is the norm for MP but on all reviews that I've read so far, but they also say that they stressed over nothing - even the ones who were freaking out on this forum.

Most other brides who have done a site visit reported that they emailed questions upfront but the on-site WCs' availability is pretty much limited to the brides that are there. (Each bride is supposed to get the full attention of their assigned WC.) They just kind of did things on their own. Take LOTS of pic for those of us who can't do a site visit, especially of the Grand side since it is new and not much posted AND the reception venues. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Hi Ladies,

I'm getting married January 15th, 2011 at MP. I can't wait. I got the dress, photographer, videographer, ceremony booked on the beach... and that's about it. I need to get to work. I've been looking for flights but I haven't found any direct flights from Los Angeles to Cancun.

Has any of you gotten information on the new promotion that is being run 1500 vacation dollars? Do you know how much the excursions, spa and salon, and golf packages that qualify are? Example: does it take 5 vacation dollars to equal 1 USD

My worry is they give you all this great money but then you get there and it is 3 times the price so you still pay out of pocket.

My daughter was just married at Aventura Spa Palace on May 20 2010. She used a resort photographer named David Pena. Moon Palace uses him also. He was fantastic, very professional and very artistic! We were more than pleased! We purchased the Sapphire Wedding Package and this was the photography package that came along with it. We also purchased a CD of all of the photos taken (the enhanced ones plus every photo taken) for an extra $165 and it was well worth it) and we purchased an extra hour of videography for the cocktail/hors d'ourves first dance (a rhumba) hour (also father-daughter dance and mother-son dance), also well worth it.

We added a fantastic harpest to the package, some extra flowers (all the flowers and the bouquet were amazing!) for the ceremony and a sound system for the cocktail hour. We had an amazing wedding dinner afterwards at ElGreco with filet mignon and shrimp. The wedding cake was wonderful! 3 tier vanilla cake, fruit filling, covered with with fondant and blue scrolls. Looked and tasted wonderful!

Here are some of the photos I put on shutterfly (when you see them larger they are even more beautiful!) and we still have about 150 more:

1 Vacation $ = $1

All of the prices listed on the website for spa services, tours & golf are the same whether you spend dollars or vacation dollars (if you click on each specific tour, the price is listed at the bottom). They just deduct up to $1500 worth of qualifying expenses from your bill at the end. There is a $300 limit on spa/salon services which won't go very far since their spa treatments are pretty expensive. But a lot of our guests are going to use a good part of the Vacation Dollars for golf & it will save us all a ton of money & we'll still have $300 to spare for spa services & enough for a tour or 2 for the 2 people in the room.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
