Melissa! Keep an eye out for the huppah... Erin managed to get a picture, but it was kind of far away. That's my only request for photos!

For those of you going very soon.. could you check and see if they have an ATM on site? I checked the DPC board and back in the fall they didn't have one, but I asked to see if it had changed and no one wrote back yet. I am just curious to know if there is, in case we want or need to take out more cash!

Hi Nat!

I actually read a review today in Travel advisor where they noted that there isn't an atm on the property and that they charge you $48 if you want any money taken from your credit card! (meaning you go to the front desk and ask them to charge your card and give you the cash).

melissa, most of us just left our phones at home since we didn't have international service. my dad and stephany both had theirs though (lucky blackberry fools) and they had no problems at all!

nat, the huppah is literally a wooden frame with white fabric on it. it it shaped just like a bamboo huppah, but it's made out of plywood and 2x4s instead. i may have a better picture at home.. i'll try to look through them tonight! and the ATM thing is such a pain! hopefully they have a better option by the time you get down there!

We were just there about 2 weeks ago - and no ATM! I was surprised too. They have a cash-changing desk, but if you take out US dollars, they charge a lot - My fiance wanted to take $100 and they were going to charge $30 or $40 for the transaction. They explained to him that it was because they take the money in pesos and then have to exchange it. We ended up taking pesos and it was a little cheaper.

To the girls who only have a month to go until their wedding: How much do you actually have planned with the wedding coordinator as of right now? Also, is the wedding coordinator more responsive the closer it gets?

I have had pretty much all my questions answered so I am tyring to accept the fact that I will just wait until I get down there to finalize everything.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
