RIU Confirmation Question

Recommended Posts

Hello! I have a question/concern I'm hoping someone can answer for me. Today I received a message from my TA asking me to go to the RIU website and submit my confirmation number she gave me and fill in the information requested. I was fine with all of that until the last page that was asking for my credit card information - my VERY detailed credit card information (including the security code) I DO NOT put my credit card information into ANY online database form, I especially will not provide such detailed credit card information. I talked to my TA and she agreed it was strange they were asking for the information especially since payment has already been arranged however my TA didn't have any information on alternatives for me. She's looking into it but I thought I would ask my BDW friends for their thoughts.

Did you have to do an online confirmation? If so, did you provide the credit card information?

Do you know if there is another way I can confirm without providing my credit card information??

Thanks for any help/advice you can give!

Thanks TA Raymond. I'll give them a call.

I don't put my credit card information in the form because I've worked on the back-end of those types of forms and I've seen whats happens with that information and I'm not comfortable putting my information into a database like that. It's not secure.

It's not so much about the payment part, that's already been arranged.

Thanks for your help!!

My apologies, I'm not sure where I got TA Raymond. TA Maureen you've been great help, thanks. You'd be surprised at how anal I am about giving my Credit card out or any personal information for that matter.

However, I did talk with my credit card company and went through a few security features with them. I'm still not comfortable with it but at this point in time I don't have it in me to put up a fight. I've taken steps to protect myself but at the end of the day it is still high risk.

My daugther is getting married at RIU Negril and the TA asked her to confirm online but she did not have to put her credit card info. Her wedding is on 6-5-10 and so far no one has asked her for this information and she has been in contact with the Wedding Coordinator Dionne several times. I will ask her to double check this.

I had the same issues as you as I am a Riu Palace Riveria Maya bride... It creeps me out giving my card info but I agree with Maureen, its just one of those things I have to do to get my destination wedding. My sister did this too a year and a half ago and everything went fine so I am hoping for the best :)

Hi my earlier message was a mess! lol.
I am getting married at the Bahamas RIU and I confirmed online and was never once asked for my credit card. I havent heard from my WC yet though. but I had a cousin who did this and they didnt have to put a credit card down or any info as personal as that. I would look into this more.

good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
