I believe our actual cost will be around $2000 per couple. That is for a garden view room. I highly suggest using a travel agent. My best friend is a TA, so I am fortunate in that regard. She is booking trips for a couple other girls from this site as well. If you would like her info, PM me and I will put you in touch. I have been astonished at the prices some are paying, but I am assuming they are going during peak season and are perhaps flying from more expensive locations. We are flying out of St Louis on a charter flight. But I have some guests flying out of other airports on commercial flights, and their costs were a little higher due to their airfare. Good luck!
Thanks for the info!

Are you from Chicagohuh.gif I am in the suburbs and we are getting married this June. Our travel dates are the 14th to the 21st. We booked last August before the resort opened, so I am not sure if that played a role in my prices, but this is what we got based on double occupancy in deluxe garden view rooms:

7 nights = $1078 per person
5 nights = $775 per person
4 nights = $636 per person

We did the resort separate from the air fare. Everyone booked their air on their own and we all got it pretty cheap from O'Hare. I paid $294 round trip on American for non-stop flights. The most anyone paid for airfare was $388 round trip. Again, this is for this June, but I would imagine it would be pretty similar next June. If you haven't done so already, contact Hagen Sommer at the resort to get quotes. He is the group sales manager sales@dreamsrivieracancun.com.mx.

Hope this helps!

I have some questions for the brides that have already gotten married at DRC.

We are having the cocktail hour before the reception. On the wedding contract, it says to pick one cold and one hot appetizer.

There are 3 categories of the cold one's and 3 of the hot one's. Ana is so vague on answering my questions as usual. Does that mean I get to pick only one cold and one hot appetizer? Or do I get everything listed under the hot and cold appetizer category?

Also, we have about 39 guests coming to the wedding. As far as the menus go..can we get the buffet menu if we have less than 40 people. I understand that it is mandatory if we have more than 40 people. Or do we only get the sit down dinner menu. If we choose the buffet, do we get everything on that menu or have to choose items under each category?
As far as the cocktail hour menu...you choose 1 of the categories and get all of the appetizers listed under there - hot and cold. For example, we chose Mexican (which was soooooo good) and we got all of the hot and cold appetizers listed under Mexican.

You can have the buffet if you have under 40 guests. I had 30 guests and we did the buffet. And same with the cocktail menu, you choose one category and get everything that is listed under it. We did change out the desserts though with desserts from other menus and Ana was very accommodating with the switching. We chose the Caribbean buffet and it was really good!

Thanks!!
Starting on page 51 of this thread, there are reception site pictures posted and I think there are more posted after that but I am not sure where. Although this thread is long, there is TONS of information that was already posted. It might take you a while but you could definitely benefit from reading through it! There might even be answers to questions you haven't even thought to ask :)

I do like the idea of not having to pay right smack upfront....very helpful...thank you
I also booked my travel through a agent who is affiliated with Apple. We had 10 others flying down for our wedding and each package was calculated differently to get the best deal possible. I paid for our flight seperatly upfront and was able to get a way better deal than having apple arrange the flights with my package. Most of my other guests it worked out good being lumped together.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
