Hi there!

Thank you to all the brides who have posted their insight and reviews on Las Caletas. It is always a little harder to plan a destination wedding and your information really helps me visualize how the day would go and what to expect. And all of your photos...WOW! So many stunning brides! I'm very excited and am in the process of booking our wedding with Kelley for 2011!

Just wondering, for the brides who left for Las Caletas early in the morning, with the bridal party...did you pay extra or arrange an additional spa excursion to be at Las Caletas all day (for massages, swimming, etc)? I am getting the premier/platinum package, and Kelley describes the day with me riding the catamaran out to Las Caletas with our guests. I'd much rather go earlier and relax in the morning.

Also, based on the reviews it sounds like insects were not a problem, but I want to ask anyways. Did anyone have issues with mosquitoes or other insects coming out at dusk? Should I plan ahead for that?

Thanks again!

Melissa

That is the package I got.. and I went out early in the day with my mom and 2 bridesmaids! It is totally worth it.. you should ask her about that!

Kelley is AWESOME! You will love working with her! She makes everything so easy and fun!

As for bugs.. yes.. I got bit a few times out there. So I would suggest some bug spray. You are around a lot of trees and whatnot.. but I didnt have much of a problem at all.

We also got the premier package, but we didn't have a bridal party. DH and I headed out to LC at noon. Once there, we got massages, relaxed in the jacuzzi and then started to get ready. It was really nice to be able to head out early and just relax before the big event. Kelley made sure we stayed on track so we wouldnt run late....you kinda lose track of time there! As for mosquitos, no one had mosquito bites. We took bug spray but didnt end up using it at all.

Thanks Ideavila, it puts my mind at ease that I can bring bug spray as back up but will not have to worry too much about the insects.

Congratulations! Your dress is amazing!

Okay, good to know. It sounds like a little bug spray as back up won't hurt but that overall they are not an issue. And I am thinking I definitely want to arrange to go there early for some massages and relaxation!

It was GREAT to be out there early. My mom and friends and I just relaxed and talked all day! The day flies by so it is nice to get away from all of the hustle of the wedding and just relax for awhile. The lunch they serve you is great and you get to snorkel or kayak even if you want to. Totally worth it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy! I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them? Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
