That is pretty much the only part I hate. It seems easily removable so one of my BMs suggested that I have it removed by a tailor and have a diff color fabric put in its place. Probably turquoise since its part of the wedding color scheme. Other than that it fits good. I had to leave the dress in NY with my mom because FI was being nosey, but as soon as my mom emails me the pics I will post them.
Hello Jenna,

Do you happen to have a picture of the dress you wanted and the dress they made? I'm thinking about ordering a dress but wanted to see some of their work.
thanks

This is the dress they were supposed to make. It came out identical for the exception of the belt. I don't have a picture yet, as they didn't send one before shipping it out, but the belt is made of sequins, which I found cheap and ugly.

I think it looks pretty good!! couple of things I noticed;

  • Beading (or whatever its called) on the close up pic goes up slightly at the top middle.
  • Could do with more beading to replicate original?
  • need to check about the pockets as no reference to those
  • does the top section look quite long to anyone else?

Thanks

GORGEOUS dress Kerry! I think they did a great job. I agree about the beading- mine was supposed to have a lot too and probably has less than yours. Maybe the top looks long because of your measurements? It does look a little long between the beading compared to the orig. Overall though it's gorgeous.

Just a warning so you don't freak out though- they sent me my proof pics on April 18th, I sent them my request to correct some uneven applique the same day. I sent another inquiry on May 3rd, they said it would be ready in 3 days and I still have not heard anything. You have plenty of time though!

Ok so I am a little miffed with gianinarbridal. Well actually alot miffed. After being told they couldn't make my linen and lace dress because it was not possible for them to get linen it would cost like $400 I switched. I had found a tornai which though I don't like her style looked very nice on me. (There is a bride here in florida that was selling hers for $5000 I told her I wouldn't buy it but she convinced me to at least try it on). When I wrote to gianinar they said the dress would cost $150 and $59 for shipping. While in the bridal salon yesterday I tried on a Jorge Manuel which was gorgeous. So bad girl on my part I wrote gianinar to switch (mind you I have not sent my measurements as yet just my $80 deposit and pictures of the tornai). Well I was more than bummed out and a little upset when they said the Jorge Manuel dress would cost $300?!?!? I am so confused. She said the tornai is a simple dress and because the Jorge Manuel has applique it will cost more. Can you ladies please look at the pictures and tell me if I am crazy. The tornai is the one with the sweetheart top while the Jorge Manuel is the champagne colored dress. Which dress looks more simple?

The tornai is first and then the Jorge Manuel

wow, i'd have to agree that the second dress is much more simple than the first. With all the rouching, and then the split with the flowers around it seems to be much more complicated, although I'm not an expert by any means!

For the record the second dress is gorgeous! I love it much more than the Tornai!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
