Im after a little bit of advice! Tiara has got back to me and has advised me that as we are such a small party, dinner on the pier or the beach would be the best way to go after renewing our vows! can anyone give me their opinion, both sound lovely! not sure what to do? is it still very warm after sundown as this will be the time of our meal?
I didn't get a chance to see any weddings on the beach, but I think the pier would be awesome for a small party for dinner! As for the heat, it does not cool down at night much at all! We we SOOOO hot the whole day and night of the wedding so I would not worry about it being too cool no matter where you are.

We are doing our reception on the beach and having a group of 14 so i can give you details in about 2 weeks!!! We were planning on doing the pier but it could only hold 12, we got 2 more ppl in the last 2 weeks so moved it. you could also do the gazebo, i think Tiara said a max of 10.

Oh wow! only 2 weeks to go!!! so exciting!! ah thanks Dolfinluck I would really appriciate some feed back!! Both sound idylic but my usband is worried because we are a small party that we are just going to be dumped on the bottom of the pier or a table on the beach with no atmosphere!!!

Thanks Jenne, I will have to bear the heat in mind when dress shopping!! I was going to bring my origional wedding dress to renew our vows in for sentimental reasons...but now am thinking something lighter would be better!!

To any of you already married at dreams, did you use the photographer organised by Tiara? if so how did the photos turn out? can you choose the ones you want included in your package? I think we are going to book the smaller package of 50 photos as there are only 4 of us?

Thanks everyone xxxx

Hi Ladies!

First of all I think I need to apologize to every one of you here, I've been lurking for about a week on the forum, this thread in particular and haven't even said hello up until now because I've been too busy catching up on your 94 page spread for DLR, but I'm here now and promise never to lurk again haha.

Just to add my date in

I just wanted to say thank you really ladies, you've all given me so many ideas for the wedding and answered so many questions and you've also saved Tiara from being harassed by yet another bride because of the support available on this thread.

Congratulations to you all on your past and present and future wedding dates!

If anyone would like to be kind enough to add me on facebook so I can check out your wedding pics that would be fantastic, I'm leaning towards HDC but still find I'm unable to choose and would love to compare. My name is Joanna Newhams and I'm the only one there :-)

I'd really appreciate everyone's opinion though on a certain matter - Everyone thinks I'm being totally obsessive over the wedding considering It's so long away, and getting married abroad because It's an 'easier option' but what do you Ladies think?

We're getting married in the Gazebo and have a very small wedding party of 6 people, just my fiance and I, with our parents, we have the Basic Wedding Package and are just buying any extras that we feel necessary, I'd like music to walk down the isle too, and also our first dance too but I'm not really worried about the rest of the night, I don't really see much point in getting a DJ for such a small party so would you all recommend buying iPod speakers? This may sound silly but is there electric near the Gazebo? I don't know if I should get those or battery operated?

Welcome Jo!!!
Lovely to have a new bride to chat to!!!
My husband and I are coming to dreams in october and will be renewing our wedding vows while we are there, very small party of 4, me my husband and our two little girls!! we have been together 13 years and married for 5. I know to some people it may seem crazy to renew them after 5 years but we had such a crazy wedding with lots of people in the UK, that doing something small and intimate just the 4 of us just seems so much more personal!!
Tiara has been so helpful, she has reccomended that after our ceromony dinner on the beach or the pier would be very intimate rather than be in a restaurant with lots of strangers. Still not decided on that yet, what do you think?

Flowers AND Jonewhams just noticed your both from London, So good to have someone else from the Uk, though everyone on this site has been amazing for ideas, support and answers.

Jo I'm pretty close to you in numbers and we had considered the gazebo to have our meal in, as we are decorating it for the wedding it just means a few battery lights in the lanterns and we get our monies worth out of the lanterns lol

I'm the same as you, as there is only 12 of us, there is no point hiring a dj, but I would like it quite private so we can say a few words and have our first dance, after that I was just going to head to the niteclub, and I was wondering about the speakers myself, it seems a lot of money to hire speakers for a coulple of songs, can any of you married ladies tell us how this would work?

Also I'm compiling my cd and ipod playlist for the wedding at the moment and I remember reading someones playlist, can anyone remember was it on this thread? I'm getting stuck for ideas, thanks

Omg I can't believe how quickly we are going through that list!!! I can't quite believe I'm going to be there next month!!

Good luck for all you May Brides xoxo

Hi Liane,

Thanks for the review, and congrats!

My wedding is in around 2 weeks as well... getting a bit antsy about it, since Yanna hasn't gotten back to me on quite a few key things... but it sounds like I have nothing to worry about.

Liane, Jenne, or Amy... what did you gals think about the pier? That's actually my choice location for the wedding, but I haven't heard of many people doing that (although I have seen the pictures)

Thanks again for the review gals... looking forward to this all myself as well!

Hi Flowers

Aww that's so sweet! Renewing after 5 years is a lovely idea and keeps the spark going :-) I hope me and my partner are just the same after that long :-)

I love the idea of doing something with just the people closest, that's why we chose the Dominican, Chris has such a big family it would of felt more like a show for everyone else, rather than just us and the people who matter most so I think you're doing a great thing and hope you have a fantastic day.

I think the pier sounds a bit more romantic than the beach, although both look lovely, I've read a few reviews about the hotel just blocking a part of the beach off (and not a big part) but the pier just looks a bit more secluded and intimate :-)

Are you all ready for the big day?

Awww It's so close! You must be so excited! I'm absolutely beaming and have over 9 months to wait! I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through :-)

You're right about the DJ though, I've sent Yanna and Tiara an email to find out more info about the walking down the aisle and things so will just have to wait for them to get back in touch - Hopefully won't be too long ....

With the Gazebo decorations are you taking your own lanterns? They look stunning when their up and was considering stealing the idea too after looking at some of the lovely pics on here lol. There's so many ideas I have but It's going to cost a fortune in excess baggage! I know paper lanterns won't really be a lot - But if I need to take speakers and other decorations It's all going to mount up and wonder if it would just be cheaper to ship over first? Hmmm huh.gif

I've found a thread that's just full of playlists so don't know if this will help, It's http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...laylist-42149/

What have you chosen to walk down the aisle too and first dance?

I think the pier would be GREAT for a small group dinner. They actually sell private lobster dinners which are held on the pier. One is set up at the end of the pier and one at the beginning. I think if it were for my wedding, I would ask that no other dinners be held on the pier that night (they probably do that anyway).

I don't think there is electricity on the pier though, so not sure about music.

There is electricity at the gazebo though. They have this area where the 'dj' is set up with these big speakers (I believe there is an electrical box stationed there) about 10' from the gazebo near one of the trees.

If there is a bit of a breeze on the pier, it would be very welcomed, TRUST ME! Especially as we get closer to the summer months... even the people on the resort said that the weather just gets hotter and hotter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
