We booked with Carribean Warehouse who have been fantastic so far! Very knowledgable and easy to work with they also quoted alot earlier than high street TA's. I saw them at the London Olympia wedding show and know a few people who have used them and their parent company Blue Bay Travel. They came in about £200 pp less than cosmos!

Do you guys worry about what guests will do after the dinner? I wonder if with 20 people it'll be hard to get a good atmosphere!?

x
This is my only (at the moment anyway) and main worry - the atmosphere. We have been advised the wedding will take place at 4pm and the dinner will start at 6pm - the bit in between im not too worried about as there will be photos and drinks on the beach so this will pass by without too much worry - but once we have had the meal etc - what can you do with 20 people! We have hired the beach bar so can use an ipod to play on a speaker system until 11pm - so i think over the next few months i am going to have to find some right cheesey tunes to upload for all generations coming and try and get everyone to boogie. Im hoping with the tequilas flowing and the waiters creating some cocktails which we have been told they will do; everyone gets a bit merry and we can get a bit of an atmosphere going. We are all family apart from my BM and her mum - so gonna try for the 'get mums merry and dads dancing just like they do on Christmas day' - lol

I'm a uk bride getting married at the end of this month!

We booked our wedding and accommodation direct with our resort...meant we got direct wedding co-ordinator contact ALOT quicker! Also meant we could choose between the room upgrades the hotel have, rather than what the ta offer!

We booked our flights through thomas cook and have to say, worst experience EVER!! Will never go with them again...soo glad we didn't book anything else with them! We flew with first choice last year and wish we'd booked with them now...but we'd already booked up at that point!

Anyway, if anyone can, I'd recommend doing as much with your resort as possible :)

Another UK bride here, waiting to book! We have to book ours with Cosmos as they are the only ones that do our hotel. Our friends booked theirs with First Choice last yr and had nothing but problems so we will prob book it at TCook! Cosomos use TCook airlines though so that's a bit of a worry going by what you have just said :o(.... Maybe i'll ask if we can fly with Thomson's instead?

At the mo we have 20 ppl coming and i think the day will be fine. Our wedding is on hold for 3pm then photos, cocktail hour and dinner in an al a carte at 6pm. I guess we'll finish up dinner at around 7.30 and move onto a bar. I think even if you have a small group you are at a hotel so there will be plenty of ppl around you and the atmosphere from the wedding will be great. You'll all be on a high from the day!

Michelle if you were looking at cosmos try carribean warehouse I had the same issue that no high street TA did our hotel and carribean warehouse came in £200 cheaper per person than cosmos!

Also - are u going to stay in your wedding dress? I cant imagine sitting at a bar in my wedding dress? lol x

Worth trying though! I think we're flying with TC too - bit concerned people had issues already but its only the flight so hopefully no need to worry

UNLESS that bloomin volcano is still going off!! I can't imagine what would happen not sure if wedding ins. would cover the loss of your wedding package if you cant travel because of "acts of god"?

Im planning on staying in my wedding dress all night, i am going to look and if i find a white "after reception dress" i will take just in case, but to be honest i cant see me taking my dress off at all.... I think i might even want to sleep in it!!!

We have booked through TC but are flying with Thomson, which i am pleased about as we have flew with both before and definatly prefer the Thomson flights. but like Kerry has said it is only the flight so it wouldnt be a major concern for us if we were flying with them!!!

I am abit worried about the Volcano as i am a bit "dur" somethimes i didnt actually realise volcanos could erupt for years at a time!!! it was only something Stephen said the other day... well that set me in panick mode too!!! I just have to try not to think about it or i'll drive myself mad!!!!

Hi Ladies

I am a newbie to this forum but also from the UK.

Planning to marry in March 2012 at the Gran Caribe Real Resort in Cancun are there any other brides marrying here? We are booking through First Choice as they seem to be the only agent that offer the Gran Caribe, unless anyone knows of any others

What happens once you have booked your wedding are you given a wedding co-ordinator? most people on here mention having discussions with their wedding co-ordinator to sort arrangements nd things.

Also does anyone know how long it roughly takes for the blood results to come back after you have had the tests?

So many questions and i am not getting married until 2012 lol

Once the wedding is confirmed and booked i think the wedding co-ordinator contacts you near the time? I think i will contact the WC directly when i have had my wedding date confirmed though...

Now i have said this i dont know how the WC would contact me as i never gave my email to travel agents?! Hmmm, im going to have to check this out? i will let you know. (be about a week or so though as my TA is on hol this week)

The blood tests at my resort take 1-2 days. I dont know if this differs resort to resort though, i cant imagine it taking that long though.

It dosent matter your getting married in 2012 and asking questions now, at least you will be well perpared...

xoxo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
