Aubry - can I ask the timeline you had in mind for your wedding day. I may have my ceremony at 11. Thanks!

Unless there has been a recent change, there are THREE weddings per day. Mine is scheduled at 10am because there is already an early afternoon and late afternoon wedding the same day as mine. I was hoping for the last spot of the day sad.gif Oh well, at least we can have our ceremony before the weather gets too hot and then enjoy the rest of our day. We are not having a reception anyway, we are going to eat together at one of the restaurants (we have about 20 guests going) and have our cake after dinner. We are being very casual about the whole day.

Girls, when you look up the sunset time, does this indicate the time the sun starts to set, or literally the time the sun completely sets (i.e. the time it gets dark)?

When I look up December 8th, the sunset time is listed as 5:06pm. My ceremony time is currently set for 3pm, so I think this is okay if the sun is setting around 5pm, but if it's DARK at 5:06pm then obviously it's gonna start setting earlier than that... and so now I am wondering if maybe I should try and have my ceremony earlier?

Help, advice please and thanks!!!

Good question!!!!
My wedding is at 3pm on Nov 30th. I feel the same way as you. I want some pics when it is daylight out...but I don't want to have to have my wedding at 1pm.....

I would leave your time for 3:00. The ceremony only lasts for 20 mins if you are just doing a symbolic.

Here is word for word the email I got from my wedding photographer, who does a ton of Mexican weddings:
“3:00 pm ceremony start is PERFECT!!!! if you want to be at the cocktail hour to relax and mingle with your friends & family ( we can also get some nice candid shoots at this time) then I think 5:15-5:30 to start the cocktail hour will be good :-) “

I personally wonâ€t push it up any earlier. I think 3 is the best time. I was there in late October to visits and at 1:00 it was pretty Hot out, it was the peak of the Sun.

Were the gerberas for your BM's priced as a BM bouquet? Also, do you happen to have an itenerary from the resort activities? I'd really love to have a sample for my guests.

Also, my wedding was supposed to be at 11, but now they're telling me 3. I'm worried that it will be too hot at that time of day in July - any thoughts?
I had to pay around 30 to 40 dollars for each bouquet! Not sure on the exact price. My bouquet and the 4 calla boutonnieres were included in the love package. I did not pay extra for a cake for the number of guests I had (53) and just stuck with the cake included and believe me that was plenty. The are desserts on the buffet anyway so not even half the cake was even eaten. Don't pay extra for a larger cake-you will be wasting money. I really recommend buying your brisesmaid bouquets from "enchanting memories" they are not real but look and feel real! The owner pat will do whatever you want. I initially ordered them but my postman screwed up and I didn't get them til I returned. They were so much bettter than the resort bouquets. They were much larger gerber daisys and bright pink/fuschia. I had to send them back and they fully refunded the money. Definetely check them out www. Enchantingmemoriesstore.com!!! You will love her work! The resort leaves an itinerary in everyones room at night describing the next days itinerary and activities. It changes every day so don't bother making your own. It is hot at 11 and 3 so I wouldn't be too worried about 3pm. Actually 3 is better because then your guests can have a couple drinks while you take pics and before you know it it's dinner time. Don't stress about your guests- they are on vaca too and will manage just fine at this beautiful resort. Believe me my guests absolutely loved everything! They relaxed, ate awesome food and drank. My husband got his vest and pants from Macy- Perry Ellis!

one more thing: I wore "barefoot sandals" on the beach! I got mine on eBay- they were swarvoski iridescent cyrstals! They were awesome and I got soo many compliments. You should really consider wearing them on the beach since you won't be wearing shoes on the sand- you will love them so so cute!!! You can see them in one of my pics in the album I posted.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
