my ceremony mentions the ocean, sand, waves, etc. several times. it wouldn't be right if we were in an interior room (not to mention the cute shoes i could have found if we weren't on the sand!).
We had issues with rain...if there is a chance of rain they make you sign a 2500$ waiver if it rains on their equipment. Problem is I had to make this decision 3 hours (!!!) before the wedding. There were lots of clouds so i didnt take my chances and ended up having the cocktail outside and the reception in the ballroom. It didnt rain haha but we had a blast and then all headed to the blue parrot bech club to keep the party going.

I don't have a TA and no one in my group used one either... they all booked through a third party source. My FI and I take trips 2 sometimes 3 times a year and have never used a TA for anything and have never been bumped from any place we've stayed at and we always book through places like Expedia or American Airlines Vacations. Plus, my onsite WC took everyone's room reservation numbers and insured that no one would be bumped so I'm not sweating it.

Did you have to give her your reservation numbers from expedia? Or just their names? Mine asked for a guest list, but not reservation numbers and I want to make sure that no one gets bumped.

I only have 9 more days left...the thought of leaving next week really gives me butterflies in my stomach!!!

I'm think of using Cecilia as well! I love her quirky style; I think it fits our personalities perfectly. And she has reasonable prices. I'll be looking forward to seeing your pics! Congrats on being so close!

Yes I gave my WC the name and reservation numbers of whoever my guests booked through. I have some that booked Expedia, some Travelocity and some American Airlines Vacations. My WC only wanted everyone's reservation numbers. I also gave her the person's name the rooms were booked under just to be safe.

if this is the case, what happens if it rains? They move you inside to the ballroom, but what if there are two? Are there more than one ballroom locations?
Hi that was me! :) We went on a site visit a couple weeks back and we were told that there is a possibility of three weddings being on the beach at the same time. So we poked around in the evening to get a look at the receptions going on. One evening there was a reception just starting dinner and another was already dancing. The music from the dancing crowd was clearly heard by the people eating dinner it was as if it was their own DJ. Granted if both DJ's are playing at the same time I'm sure that its fine, but we didn't go back to check.

I have to admit this is one of my concerns about having a reception on the beach, I really want a beach reception but I'm highly considering the garden to avoid this.

Is anybody else concerned about this or am i freaking out for now reason?!?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
