What's your top 5 "HIT" with OOT items?

Top 5 "NOT POPULAR" with OOT items?

currently.. My list includes
Tote Bag
Silk Fan
20z Cup
Spanish Phrasebook
Pashmina
Waterproof Card Holder/Pouch

Planning to get little things, but which are the ones people will use more? Survival kit?
Great ideas! Maybe you can use the silk fan as a favor by adding ribbon and a favor tag. This would be great for the ceremony.

Oh my, that's a lot of people! Are you giving a bag to each guest or one per couple?

I plan to place them on every seat at the ceremony. It will be so hot that the boys will use them too! I'm sure some guests will grab an extra or two.

In my OOT bags I plan on keeping it simple. I have about 50 people coming. Each couple or single person will get a bag, welcome letter, shot glass, coozie and a personalized cup!

Very simple, but fun stuff. The resort provides everything else...so I didnt see a reason to double up on stuff. :)

Yikes.. I just created a spreadsheet to calculate how much I've spent so far on my OOT bags.

Tote Bag $3.81

Travel Mug x2 $7.04

First Aid Kit (bandaids, tylenol, pepto, tums, hand sanitizer & tissue pack) $4.75

Flip flop playing cards $0.69

Key & Tip holder $0.71

Pen $1.07

Calendar Magnet $FREE

Welcome letter (postcard saying thanks for coming & enjoy the goodies) $FREE

My total per bag so far is $18 and there doesn't seem to be a lot in there. I'm not sure what else to add that won't cost a fortune but will bulk it up enough. A lot of my orders are in still the mail, so once I get everything I've ordered so far, I'll assemble a bag and hopefully there will be more than I thought!!

I purchased my mugs from discountmugs and they turned out perfect!!

There are no "MUST HAVE" items in a bag - remember that it's a gift and most guests won't actually expect it. So you put whatever you want in them. For instance, I did not do any special gift (no mug or else), I just included stuff that I thought would be useful - welcome booklets, "survival" kits (ie medecine I thought would be useful), pens (personalized, see at Oriental Trading they are very affordable) and post its (for doors messages), water guns (for fun !), spanish phrase books, and the favor I had picked (which was plantable paper). everybody was really happy with that (and everybody actually used the medicine).

There's a master list available in here :

the biggest hits in my bags were:

The bags themselves - everyone used them all weekend as beach bags.

Mine were from VistaPrint but any bag is great.

The "big cup"

Although not insulated, it was a 42 oz GLOW IN THE DARK cup that everyone used all the time for their drinks. The Glow in the Dark was just an added fun thing. 12.99/dozen from Oriental Trading.

The Hangover Kits - so people didn't need to bring their own meds or if they needed more...especially after drinking from the big cup!

I think what we as the brides forget is that most of our guests haven't been to a Destination Wedding before - All of our guests were shocked to recieve their OOT bags and so appreciative of anything they recieved and at the effort we put into them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
