Oot bags - avoids? $$$$

Recommended Posts

I will have about 45 bags that came out to be $10-12 per bag so far. I am also getting a few things for the ceremony and 2 favors. My bag includes:

- lip balm w/ sun screen

- mentos gum mini bottles

- bottle of water

- candy

- cookies

- miniature playing cards

- pepto

- rolaids

- aspirin

- wet ones wipes

- aloe after sun lotion

I was trying to avoid anything big and bulky so I got everything in packs.

$40/bag seems a big high but it depends on what you want to give to your guests and what your budget is. Good luck!

I think it depends on how many people and or bags you need to make. If I had to make 50+ bags I would def be keeping the OOT contents to a minimum and try to keep each bag under the $15 mark.

I have 15 bags for the adults and 3 kids bags, so I have spent more bc I dont have a whole lot of them. I think I have spent approx $25-$30 per bag. I havent gotten an exact amount yet, but just adding it up in my head - that is where my bags sit at right now. I am having to buy a few more pahmina's as I dont have enough and still waiting on my key card holders, but other then that I think I am done mine. I havent decided if I am going to put a little bag of cookies of something along those lines in there yet, but if I d, that will be it.

I hope that helps!

My guests absolutely LOVED the personalized insulated travel mugs, almost every guest used them all the time! The guys loved that they could get larger beers and that they did a good job keeping them cool! This by far was my smartest and most appreciated OOT gift!!

I purchased my mugs from discountmugs and they turned out perfect!!

I have spent about 20$ per bag.

There are no "MUST HAVE" items in a bag - remember that it's a gift and most guests won't actually expect it. So you put whatever you want in them. For instance, I did not do any special gift (no mug or else), I just included stuff that I thought would be useful - welcome booklets, "survival" kits (ie medecine I thought would be useful), pens (personalized, see at Oriental Trading they are very affordable) and post its (for doors messages), water guns (for fun !), spanish phrase books, and the favor I had picked (which was plantable paper). everybody was really happy with that (and everybody actually used the medicine).

There's a master list available in here :

Top 5 "NOT POPULAR" with OOT items?

currently.. My list includes

I suggest that you keep it simple and get things your guests will use.

Here are a few things I will include:

welcome to aruba booklet

Gum

mints

2 snacks: fruit snacks, granola bars, peanuts, pretzels, cookies

tylenol?

off wipes( insect repellant)

wet ones( or hand sanitizer)

individual tissue packs

water? -pick up when we arrive

I found cute/inexpensive white pastic bags that will fit my welcome book and the other items.

White Plastic Bags

I was also thinking about putting the stuff in a white gable box.

I don't want to pack too many bulky items that may get messed up during the travel. I was planning on using my carry-on for all of my oot supplies. I haven't bought anything for the bags yet. I will wait until 2 weeks before to see how much space I have in my luggage and go from there.

I'm spending $16 per room, that's what's on my budget and I'm planning to stay on track with my spending.. It is easy to add this here and something else there and end up speding $50 per bag! If I had more $$$ I would, but I only have $16 per bag! lol

I found great cheap bags made of Jute plant fiber on sale for $1 (original price $5.99)and having spent only that on the bags I have plenty of extra money for things to put in the bags! Here's the link with bag's*PICS*.

Inside the bags (items still TBD) but so far I though of:

* Personalized water (get the water there, I will bring the labels from home to put on them)

* $0.99 first aid kit

* small insect repellant (I'm pretty sure most of my guests will forget to bring this!)

* small hand sanitizer

* etc. etc...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
