He is an alcoholic and also has a drug problem (in denial) who is dreadlocking his hair (which he hasnt washed in over a year) and doesnt wash or shave. I know he will be drinking morning until night be a complete mess and will be all leachy with the female guests. Am I being a cow that I dont want him there? He also doesnt respect our home when he needs a place to crash, doesnt use coasters or puts cups/ plates etc away and eats everything in the fridge.... I know it sounds really petty. I have mentioned to H2B before this chap booked that he will need to talk to said friend about his appearance and behaviour on our wedding day. Now this chap has booked and I just dont him to bowl up drunk and swaying on the day. what shall I do? H2B will go mad if he knows how I really feel.
I would try and bring up a general conversation about guests in general and ask H2B if he think there are any guests who may embarrass themselves with alcohol being all inclusive (sometimes there is more than 1). Otherwise I would want to address it directly, even if it hurts his feelings he has to be aware of his drinking problem and see how it can create an issue.

Was the quote from the resort? I haven't been able to find prices but it seems like everything through the resort is very inflated.

I am thinking of doing OOT bags for our guests. I have decided on the following items:

Sunscreen

Sunburn relief cream

Rolled towel

Luggage tags

Any other suggestions? I chose a canvas bag about 8.5"x11"

KGIRL:

- I want to find single packets of sunburn relief cream. I am not even sure they sell something like that, but if you find it let me know!

-Tylenol

-Pepto

-Alcohol wipes

-Packets of gatoraide

-Tic Tacks with our logo

-Making my own crossword puzzle (I got the idea I believe from Ashnic?)

-Thinking about buying plastic shot glasses..not sure.

I cannot rem. the website that sells travel stuff.?!?

When are you assembling these bags? I think I may ship it directly to MP.

I believe I am bringing my own glass square vase (bc they do not have it or cannot supply it) and they will supply the flowers. My centerpieces will cost me $60 a piece even with me supplying the vase. They are a little pricey. Idk.

That is a difficult situation. I understand your concerns, but he is your H2b oldest friend. Can you have your H2B discuss his appearance at least for your wedding day? I do not have great advice on this one. I just hope everything turns out ok for u. The only thing I will say is that IF he is out of control, I believe they can escort him off premises. Hope it works out!

PS_how can I quote several people's comments!

That seems to be too much for centerpieces. However, I also don't want to have to pack a million bags and vases and filler can be fairly heavy as well. It can also be hard to decide on sizes without seeing the table size beforehand.

Those discussing OOT bags....we went to Dollar Tree and found the travel packs of Tylenol singles, Tums powder singles, gatorade powder singles. We bought boxes of Chiclet's gum from walmart...lots cheaper than personalized m&ms like we originally planned. We found the big mesh beach bags on the clearance section at Walmart for $3.00 a piece. Also included:

-Some games for the kids

-Bright nail polish kits from Claires for the teenage girls

-Pashmina ordered from a group order on here

-Bandaids for the accident kits (Tylenol, Tums and Gatorade in there too)

-Zipper key card/tip holder with coil wrist band from Oriental Trading

That's it for my ideas. Not very creative....but still fun! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
