I know what you mean. I get so used to his snores that I would wake up whenever he left the bed for more than 10 mins (got up to watch TV or went downstair for a glass of water).

Hi Ladies,

Count me in for 2011! My FI and I just came back from a site visit through Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. We stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico (nice AI, but we want a ceremony near the water but not on sand, and their plaza is nowhere near the beach) and visited the RPRM (better food, beach is a lot closer than at the Mexico, and the gazebo has a good view of the water).

We took a taxi to Puerto Aventuras and got daypasses to the Catalonia Riviera Maya (again, nice AI, okay food, but could not find a good non-sand locale to have the ceremony) and toured Dreams Puerto Aventuras (lovely gazebo and just-in-case-it-rains venues, didn't get to try the food though).

We then stayed at the Occidental Grand Cozumel and visited Mr. Sancho's Beach Club/Wedding Garden (more private since it's slightly away from the beach club), but I got waaay too many mosquito bites on the island and my immune system overreacts to bug bites (totally red and swollen, I'm still nursing a few and I've been back for a few days!) - don't want that on wedding pictures!

We are thinking this time next year (April/May) and have narrowed it to the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and Dreams Puerto Aventuras. Hopefully we can decide on a place soon to book a date. :)

Well to be honest i dont think the biotin have helped with it growing faster but my hair definately feels stronger. Not braking so much. I've not noticed a difference in my skin though. But i will keep taking them anyway. How about you?

Welcome new brides!!!!!!!

Nicy it's so exciting the time is so close to booking! I haven't heard anything from my WC in weeks but i read on the other forum they have 120 weddings in April and the WC work really long hours so i'm not taking it personally lol...

Let us know how you get on today with your TA and fingers x'd everybody that mine come out soon!

I can't upload a picture of the bridesmaids dress as they have taken it off the site, it may have sold out again?....... When they arrive i will take a pic. You never know i might not like them when they arrive...

Oh by they way 13months today until our wedding day! Whoop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all of us who were questioning "starting to plan to early" ... here's a story for you :-s So my MOH ordered and PIF for the bridesmaids dresses when she was in Boston back in February. They weren't in stock so they placed the order and told her 6 weeks til they would come in. About a month later she gets an email telling her that one of the dresses has come in .... early YAY!! That time frame plus passes and no call about the other dress so she contacts them about her dress. They proceed to tell her no the dress is not there, they have no record of her info - name, payment invoice etc My MOH is now losing her mind trying to find the receipt but thank GOD she held onto the email they sent her about the 1st dress coming in. To make a long story short ... I can totally be like, "RELAX Ali, we have all kinds of time for these bumps and will laugh about this in a year." Something tells me if we were to fast forward 6 months - I might not be quite as cordial LOL Anyhoo, not only do I not think there is such a thing as planning too early - after this, I highly recommend it :-) It made the difference between this being a ranting vent and an oh well thank goodness I started early post LOL

wow sounds like quite a whirlwind! good thing you have this time buffer!

at first i was getting the feeling that i was planning too early, got all sorts of "eager beaver" remarks, but now as the 1 year mark approaches i feel ok because some things are rolling already.

yay for early planners! muscle.gif

question for you ladies :)

those of you having an at home reception (AHR) , are you sending out a save the date for it? I am getting married in January 2011 in Mexico- only a few close family/friends are attending, and then we are having an at home reception upon our return.

I feel if I just send a reception invite out a few months in advance...many people will be like "wait, where's the wedding?" and may be confused!

If anyone knows the etiquette on this..please, fill me in :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
