Welcome Andrea! I plan on The Royal Cancun on October 4, but still deciding about which location. May do next door at the Gran Caribe Cancun (if they have a better gazebo)

I was also considering The Royal in Playa Del Carmen. I have to tell you, we stayed at The Royal Cancun in 2007 when it first opened and it was AMAZING. Simply the best vacation and stay we've ever had.

That's why we are going back. You are going to LOVE IT!!! They have an ocean front gazebo, plus the best beach and water for weddings (water color is brigther and bluer....makes for super pretty pics)

I'm still deciding if we do beach wedding (will be gorgeous pics, but I can't wear high heels).....or the gazebo.

Have you contacted them yet? Communication is spotty - be persistent but I understand that the weddings end up going just fine, even if communication with the Wedding Coordinators there is lacking

SF - Oh! Thanks for that tidbit. We stayed at The Royal Cancun in 07, so I think I know what you are sayign about the lounge/cabanas being "on the way into" the gazebo there! I never thought about that.

I saw the Gran Caribe Gazebo pics and the gazebo itself looks IDENTICAL to The Royals'.....so I figured I would just do TRC.

However- now that you mention it - maybe I'll do the Gran Carebe Gazebo. We are stay at TRC too!

The Royal PDC is gorgeous!! I met with one of their coordinators and she was very nice and knowledgeable. The chapel at PDC did not have our date available, which is why we went with Cancun. I did see some receptions at the beach in PDC and they did a fantastic job! It is going to be great!!

Hi there! I'm glad that you had a wonderful stay at the Royal Cancun :) We stayed at the Royal PDC and it was very nice. We ended up choosing Cancun because the chapel in PDC did not have our date available. I visited the Royal Cancun and it looked very nice. Thanks for assuring me that weddings go well ...I am getting a bit nervous :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
