Just wanted to drop you future brides a note to say that shipping to Mexico isn't all that bad.
OK being nosey... what all did you ship and how did you ship it... like UPS, USPS, Fed EX?

I was hoping between me, fiance, my parents... we can all get away with one bag each... but if you say shipping isn't so bag I might have to consider that option.

Ya what the heck, I don't get it. That seems so unlike him. Lad Di ping me your contact info and I will call him for you and have him call you. I have called him many times because I speak Spanish its just easier to explain. I mean you are a month away here! I can't believe he is not returning you e-mails.

Yay, congrats! Yes, you will start receiving all that jazz, but feel free to ask any of us questions, too.

No, you can bring your own stuff without the vendor fee.

OK she said I still have to pay the outside vendor fee. She said anyone from the outside who comes onto the premises to provide any type of service you have to pay the vendor fee. I find it amusing too that we all get different answers for things. The girls in Mexico and Michigan apparently need to have a meeting and go over things as we're all hearing different things.

Thanks! Phew! That vendor fee sure is hefty!

Jeans are fine! I think the only restaurant that it applies to is Marie Marie and Chefs Plate. I think the other ones guys can wear shorts.

Just curious, does anyone have a link for what you can/can't bring through customs?? I'm bringing everything with us...not shipping. We have our welcome bags and all the stuff for inside them (including wedding survival kits aka hangover kits with sample size tylenol, alka-seltzer, etc.) and our "place cards" are sand dollars but they're preserved... I'm getting worried everything won't make it through!

Another past Royal bride used Mayan Hospitality I can't remember who it was but I saved the picture she posted. She said the one that the resort provides is not that decorative. So I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
Jesmcan you are such an asset for us brides to have on this forum! We're lucky to have you! Thanks for the info and I'll email them to see what price they'll quote me. Thanks again!!

How did you ship it? Was it expensive? How long did it take? Thanks for the info.

There is a thread on here for customs in Mexico. Do a search. You should be able to pull it up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
