The best part of it all was my mom paid for it!! smile29.gif She initially told me all she could contribute was $500 and the dress was much more than that so it was all totally unexpected and greatly appreciated.
Congrats on finding the dress! Sounds like a great weekend.

I googled bloom boxes and all that came up were fuel cells.

I just want to tell everyone - that I paid my Bill and got NO SURPRISES! They honored my discount (which was only 1,000 off from my promtion its all about that bride, so not great) and honnored the Blue Terrace - unlike how they tried to make Wedny move.

I am so relieved!

(after all that and then I stupidly give my dress to a seamstress here who was so lax regarding timeline. I am pretty sure I'll have to stalk her to get it in time - LOL)

They charge you by the type and number of canapes so I don't think that the time really matters. I am doing my cocktail recpetion before the recpetion and only hosting for 1 hour and then doing the reception. All in all, I think that they party part will run 4-5 hours.

I liked the Italian dinner, but I thought to myself "We're going to be in Mexico. What's the point in going to Mexico to have Italian food?" Plus my FI's family is 100% Italian, so they are hard to please Italian food-wise since they make it so well themselves! I really like the Petit Gourmet or BBQ Deluxe, since that is supposed to be great option if you're having your event on the beach (as I think I will) and it has so many choices. I might also just choose from one of the set Group Menus.

That makes sense. The Deluxe BBQ sounds great just sooo expensive. Yeah and I am Italian too but at least I know that my picky Italian family will be comfortable with the food choices

**After your weddings, can you come back and tell me what your cakes were like? What flavors did you get to chose from, which style did you chose, how did it look & taste, did you think a cake was necessary? bride.gif

I didn't think a cake was necessary either but my mom insists. So cake it is.

Also, where do they have the bar? Did you have dancing, if so, where did you have it & how was it set up and how did it go?
I am doing a bar and dancing. I am having my reception in the Zazva plaza so the dance floor will be under the plaza canape and the tables will be in a circle around it. Ask your WC to send you photos of the space and explain the layout.

Amy, I have seen pictures onlibne w/ seating arrangements at Azul Sensatori.

How many tables are you having?

I have 5 tables of 8 people at each. Being that small, I dont care where they put the table #s that I have - I figure we should all be pretty close to each other. (I have no head table)

I have never seen my FI so excited as when I mentioned we could do a donkey cocktail hour. I swear, he perked right up. I have a feeling we'll be doing the donkey cocktail hour no matter what...
Just to chim in that one of the big selling features for My FI is the Donkey as well. When i told him about it he said and I quote "Can I get my picture taken with it? He also pointed out that with our group the beer wouldn't be in the buckets for very long anyway so the donkey would love us more.
Right now I am still picking a resort but Azul is in the lead partially due to the donkey. LOL.

PS Love all the input from you ladies! I didn't even know about Azul till I tripped across this thread.

Oops, sorry I forgot to mention that I am getting married at Azul Beach, not Sensatori

I'm doing a private reception on the Zocollo Terrace with the Surf & Turf, steak and lobster, appetizer is a trio of ceviche & dessert is chocolates with raspberries. It was the only thing I could think of that all my guests would like.

Hey, I think we're doing our wedding and reception at the same locations. Aren't you doing the Sky Wedding? I just added it to my detail sheet last week. It took a long time to decide if that's what we wanted to do (considering the extra $ involved) but I just really love it. Do you have pics of the Terrace that you can send me? Cecile, my coordinator sent me some but I just can't really get a good idea of the setting.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
