I have been reading some of your post and think it is awesome how you have all become sort of a little "family".
I have so many questions and so little time.
I noticed that there were a few post regarding fees for bringing your own things to decorate with. Did anyone get the final word on that?
Cecile is my WP. Has anyone worked with her?
Also, I am thinking of doing the pearl package and just adding on. I tink that might be the cheapest way to go. I have also debated doing the silver ir gold but just do not know if they are worth the extra money.
You girls seem much more informed than I. Hope you do not mind all the questions.

Thanks in advance,
Kortney
CONGRATS Kortney, and WELCOME!!!! These are girls are a-maz-ing!!!! Let us know what we can do to help!!!

Sounds like you're getting a lot done! It's so nice when unexpected people jump in and want to help, makes you feel good :)

I've added it to the list!!

Ok, no problem, music can be easy to choose, we just need to narrow it down. Do you want some votes?

What is your processional song and what versions are the options?

Also, have you searched BDW? There are a handful of threads that breakdown everyone elses options for each moment, signing the register, recessional etc. That should give you options. Maybe to compromise, you split the songs, half are you choice, half are his. Just so you choose the songs quickly :)

Added!
I AGREE! How about you give us a list of song choices and we can help you decide...sometimes you just need a little nudge wink.gif

Amy,
You remind me so much of one of my closest friends. It kinds freaks me out when I look at your picture. So many times with this type of communication you do not have a face to put with a name. In this case I feel as if I am talking to one of my girls.

I am totally freaking out because our wedding is 6 months from tomorrow and I have no dress, no invites, no save the dates, no bridesmaid dresses. I feel like I am so behind. On top of everything we just bought a house and I am trying to redecorate. I feel like a chicken with my head cutt off.

I am sorry to vent but It just keeps coming.
DOn't freak out!! I did all that stuff at 6 months...first things first, go ahead and figure out your save the dates...Vista Print is great or you could even do an email save the date for now. You can put your website on there and have all your details there for them to read...next get your dress! I just ordered my bridesmaids dresses last week (I am a little over 3 months out). Do you guys have Bella Bridesmaid? It is FABULOUS!!!!! My friend owns the one in my town, but I know they have some franchises around the country. If not, here are some of their lines...it will at least give you a place to start...
Alix & Kelly, Lula Kate, Coren Moore, Vera Wang, Lela Rose, Jenny Yoo, Priscilla of Boston, etc etc. Their website is Bella Bridesmaid. You can do it!! Just start making your list and working on something each day!

We booked under a promotion that B&G stay free as long as we book 16 rooms... well we booked 22 rooms. Also, we were supposed to receive the free Honeymoon package, which includes a free room upgrade. Apparently, they're not giving us that either?

I am not sure why this process is so difficult for me!!!!!

Has anyone else had any problems like this?
You're definitely not alone girl! I think EVERYONE has had to deal with stuff like this throughout the whole process. It's amazing how contracts and agreements and wording all of a sudden changes meaning!!!! My TA explained today that these resorts have a crazy way of wording things when it comes to the rooms. Sometimes it has to be 16 rooms for 3 nights...as in 16 rooms Thursd night, 16 rooms friday night, 16 rooms saturday night...instead of just 16 rooms in general. That's just one example. I would print out everything you have and make them explain to you why you are not getting these upgrades. If they cannot provide you a reasonable answer, then they should grant you those promises. Ridiculous, I know. But just the way these people work sometimes...it's a constant battle! fencing.gif

Oh we're receiving a free room... for two nights.

Amy, how about you? Food was the most important thing for me going into this but had since changed a bit. Eager to here the menu options other's have chosen.
I'm doing the Donkey Cocktail hour with the 5 Mexican passed canapes on the yoga palaps on the beach, which may or may not be offered anymore.

I'm doing a private reception on the Zocollo Terrace with the Surf & Turf, steak and lobster, appetizer is a trio of ceviche & dessert is chocolates with raspberries. It was the only thing I could think of that all my guests would like.

Yeah I thought about that too. But about half of my guests love good food and there are quote afew (basically my entire side of the family) that's picky and won't try new things. That's why I think we are going with the Italian Family Style. There are a few appetizer options and side dishes and then they can choose from salmon. shrimp, chicken or beef for the main course. I think I am going to "fancy it up" for the cocktail recpetion so I can have the best of both worlds.

I am so glad that they are letting me pull canapes from each of the different menus and create my own.

I also wanted to have the donkey but then my co-worker started getting into the logistics of that. (I won't go into the points he brought up bc I don't want to deter you) but either way I am anxious to hear how that goes for you. :)

OMG, can you believe you are just over 2 weeks out? After 2 years of planning muct feel like a relief! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
