Yes! They did deliver them to the hotel. I emailed with them before I left for Mexico and arranged for them to be delivered the day before my wedding. They charged $8 for delivery. They delivered them to the concierge at the resort and then the concierge delivered them to my room! So easy!

My wedding was at 3 and my dinner was 6:00 which was perfect timing. We really didn't finish pictures till about 5:30. We had 10 adults and 2 children so kind of similar. Ours was all imediate family so they were all included with the pictures we did on the beach. So right after the pictures most of us went to our rooms to refresh a little and then met at the wine cellar for dinner. If you have people not included in pictures after then I would say that maybe some hors d'oeurvers would be nice on the deck as people are arriving for the dinner.

Cathy
I ordered them about a week before I left for Mexico, which would have been 2 weeks before the wedding. My wedding was on Friday and they delivered the chocolates on Thursday. I gave them to Ana on Thursday and she put them out for me at the reception. It wasn't so hot in February that they would melt so I didn't really have to worry about that. I could see being concerned about that in July though...

Ladies, on a side note..... Where exactly is the "pool deck"? Is that the area between the infinity pool and the beach? Where the board walk is?
Thanks!

Yes...the pool deck is a wood deck between the infinity pool and the beach.

Also - I have templates for my bridesmaids and groomsmen, which I'm sure you can tweak for all guests - I'll attach those as well. I bought a10 sized cards (3.875 x 9.25) at Michaels - it was in the wedding aisle - Mix and Mingle by Gartner studios (I bought white and then ordered pink envelopes from Paper Presentation to stuff them in).
OMG, your OOT bags are fabulous! Where did you get the actual bag and the mugs?
Thanks!

Megan...the template I have for the list and times of events is on my mom's computer which just crashed the other day so unfortunately I can't post it for you sad.gif However, it was very, very east to do! She did it in Microsoft Word. If you need help figuring it out, let me know and I will try to re-create it and post for you. I'll post a picture of it...
Also, I got chocolates from Ah Cacao, which is located in Playa del Carmen for favors for my wedding. It was a great suggestion from somebody on here (sorry, I don't remember who!!) and it was a hit. I contacted them through their website before I left for Mexico and paid for the chocolates by paypal. I arranged with Ah Cacao for the chocolates to be delivered the day before the wedding and they were delivered right to the hotel concierge with no problems. They only charged $8 for delivery fee and a taxi ride to Playa costs $50, so it was a great deal! They have lots of stuff depending on how much you want to spend. Did you get stuff for your OOT bags yet? One thing that I put in mine that was used a lot in Mexico and at home was chapstick. I got mine from this website ( Cocktail Lip Balms ) and the flavors were so good :) I got margarita and pina colada - yum! I'll post a pic of my OOT bag contents for you too so you can see what else I put in them. Hope that helps!

Love your OOT bags! Where did you get the actual bag and the mugs? Did you make your own labels? How?

I am getting married on October 17. We are thinking of renting a catamaran instead of having a rehearsal dinner. But..we would also, like to have a welcome dinner for everyone. We have approximately 50 people coming. Do you think that Dreams could set a dinner up on the beach for an extra charge? I haven't had much contact with Ana, but am not worried after all of the feedback. Has anyone done a dinner like this and if so how much did it cost? Did you set something up prior to getting there?

Thanks,

Adrian

Thank you!!
I got the bags from Amazon:
Amazon.com: Olive N Figs Plain Vanilla Jute Handbag/Tote: Clothing

I got the mugs from Discount Mugs:
Unique Travel Mugs, Custom Printed Metallic Travel Mug, Metallic Travel Mug, Travel Mugs

I did make my own labels - actually my mom made the sticker labels and I made the hang tags. I think for the sticker labels, she got the stickers at Staples - they might have been blank name tags and then she used Microsoft Word to print them out. She found the clipart for free online. We used these for the money holders and the first aid kits. I am sure that she has them saved on her computer but unfortunately it crashed and I am not sure if she got it back up yet. As soon as she does, I will post templates. As for the hang tags, I used Microsoft Word and just set the margins to be the size of what I wanted the tag to be and put a border around. I had my monogram made by Sproullie Designs Sproullie Designs - Home She sent it to me as a jpeg file. I printed the tags onto cardstock, punched a hole and then used ribbon to tie them on to the bags.

And just to give a list of where I got everything else...
The notebooks were from the dollar store. My mom actually covered them with scrapbook paper (she's very crafty!) and they looked awesome! I got the decks of cards from the dollar store and my mom also covered those boxes in scrapbook paper and then made the labels for them in microsoft word and printed them out on cardstock and then glued them to the deck of cards. The starfish is a stamp. Here's a better picture:

I got the first aid kits from the dollar store and they came with bandaids and alcohol pads. I added to them safety pins and motrin (which I got at Staples - it came as individual packs in a big box). My mom made the labels for them on Microsoft Word.

I got the hand sanitizer from Staples also...it was a great deal - a package of 2 for $1.

I got the chapstick from this website and got the margarita and pina colada flavors. Cocktail Lip Balms

The maraca pens came from Oriental Trading: Wooden Maraca Pens

The beach safe containers also came from Oriental Trading but i don't see the ones I got on their website anymore.

I also put a card in the bags with information on a photoshare site that I set up on shutterfly.

Oh and I also sent out a brochure with some information on it a couple of weeks before the wedding. I did the photoshare cards and the brochures on my computer, which is a Mac, in Pages. I will attach those files! Hope all of this helps!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
