The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

Okay, to anyone who has been married/been to Dreams Tulum, can you tell me if the ipod docking station is removable? I'm thinking we could take it down to the pool to do a first dance after the ceremony, but I'm not sure if we can. Also, what batteries does it take. A while back someone mentioned AAAs or Ds but I don't think anyone confirmed it. Help?

Thanks!

I think the Ipod docking stations USED to be removable, but they must have been stolen quite frequently because I hear they are bolted down now. I've read what girls commonly do is bring down their own Ipod station from home (you can buy them from anywhere between $100-500) or most likely borrow one from your friends or family. They aren't very loud though, so hopefully you have a small wedding group (<20).

Sorry to ask this once again..but to any of you recently married brides (who seem to disappear after getting married forever!) - did any of you inquire about the $20 restaurant menu for your reception, instead of the silver or gold?

I will keep asking this question until it is answered :P My wedding group is already 70 people so the meal costs are very significant.

Can you guys help me with the following question…

1-If I rent chair bows from the resort, do I still have to pay a set-up fee for them to put them on?

2-For the cocktail hour the ultimate package comes with a mexican trio can I use a Caribbean trio instead?

3-Does anyone have the schdule for theme nights?

I am doing the free package option and paying the additional site fee for our reception. Aurora has told us that the white tablecloths are "free" up to 20 guests, and then $18 per table...same for the napkins. I am pushing back, but there has been a lot of back and fourth. Hopefully the white options will stay free and my only charge will be the $150 setup fee.

To have an orchid in a vase, I was quoted $30 per stem.

Anyhow, I'm working on other options...just wanted to let y'all know.

Tara I think that this is the first time anyone will be charged for the white tablecloths and napkins unless other brides just haven't mentioned it before. Do you think it is b/c you are using the free option? That could add several hundred dollars to some of our tabs. Aurora definitely does not seem to want to give any freebies away but it seems like white should be free. Please keep us updated on what you end up working out.

I won't have 70 people, but will definitely have over the 20 that are included with any of the packages so the $20 option would be really helpful to me too. Hopefully someone is able to take advantage of that and let's us know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
