How much did the CDs of the pictures cost and how many hours did you have Juan for?

CONGRATULATIONS (sorry should have said that first!!)
Thanks! I love that pic too! We are having it stretched onto a canvas for our living room.

In may last post I added the package details but I believe we had him for 2 hours. My wedding was at 3 and we finished pictures at about 5:30. So really he was there longer than the package said. he was really good and knew what he was doing.

100 days to go for the big day in Mexico!

My legal day is next Friday...

So far it's looking like just 20 of us are going, although I only have confirmation from 10, and that's NOT including FI's parents because they HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING!!

sorry, had to vent a bit!

But here's my question: since there are so few people coming now I can stretch my OOT bag budget, but would it be tacky to do paper gift bags? I figure what's inside is more important and some people might be like "ugh, another bag"

what's yall's opinion? Yes I said "yall's..." I'm from the South!

Anyway at the end of the day, I found this company that manufactures replicas right out of China so I'm kind of anxious to see if the dress looks like the original, making sure its not a rip off etc. So I figure if I'm going to gamble I better do it early just in case the dress is shoddy or the business is shady kwim. Plus I genuinely love the dress. :-)
My thoughts excatly! I like a dress that isnt out for a few months yet so ordered a knock off already so I can see if its any good if not I have plenty of time to find another and/or wait for the one I want to come out!

I think that paper gift bags would be fine! Although, I had jute bags and all of the girls used them in Mexico. Nobody thought to bring a beach bag so they did get used a lot.

...and everyone does like to book last minute. My parents were one of the last ones to book :) Don't worry!!

So since I haven't been on here I will let you know the few vendors we are using. We have hired Claudia Rodriguez for our Photographer. I met her and she is amazing if anyone is using her!

We have hired EW Cancun for the lounge furniture on the Beach for our cocktail hour and we have also hired the DJ doremixx.

I have an email into Fernando to do hair and Make-up, has anoyone ever used him or heard of himhuh.gif I have read some wonferful reviews and am awaiting to see his availablity and pricing.

Also does anyone know if the DRC is definitely looking to move the gazebo? I heard they might. I do think it is a little close to the pool, but aren't to concerned.

I have a pronvias dress. I got it from a local wedding store. It was way to big on me but I bought it off the rack and love it. I had to have 3 fittings. I get it in finished in two weeks I will post some pics.

It is the pronvias raina. I love PRonvias!!

We had friends who are getting married in June confront us and basically tell us they think it's selfish of us to have a destination wedding - the exact quote was "don't you feel guilty asking your friends to spend so much money to fly from Boston to Mexico and stay for 3 or 4 nights?" And the next sentence out of his mouth was "oh Ron are you coming to my bachelor party in London?" WHAT?! Seriously - some people are crazy. So after that conversation we decided it was absolutely thier loss.

Stay focused on your friends and family that are excited - it'll keep you excited! And us! We're all excited for you and can't wait to see pictures and hear how wonderful it was...you're soooo close!
Thanks for your kind words. I have had the same thing happen to me. Everyone I feel like I was selfish in picking my wedding to be in Mexico. We have 24 guest and those people are the most important to me. So their loss for the people that are not coming.

As for your friend what a crazy person what is wrong with people. lolsmile27.gif

Just putting this out there for brides who haven't booked a photographer yet. Check out Juan Navarro! I booked Claudia before I looked around because I loved her work so much and now I'm looking for a photographer for my TTD session and Juan's prices are amazing! I'm so happy that I will be able to use them both and I'm going to have amazing photos but Juan's package offers more photos and is a better price. So, I just wanted to put that out there! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
