ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

I have been working with carole since Suzanna left. I've been trying to get a hold of Carole for a week now to confirm my wedding date has been changed. Every time I call they say.."shes out today" or "shes out all week" well today I finally asked for anyone else that can help me. I got a voicemail from Autumn who said Carole is out for a FEW weeks and she is taking over! She confirmed my date of 12/2...and said e-mail her with questions...but didn't leave her e-mail address! I want to e-mail her to send me an updated contract.

Does anyone have Autumn's email adress?

For those that have a long wait in between the cocktail and reception or just reception I would suggest going to a bar off the resort. Just in case it sounds like the royal is pretty crazy and strict with outsiders.

Maybe you can appoint someone to take the outsiders group to hang out. About two blocks away is a really fun bar called the Tequila Barrell. They always have $1 beers and 2 for one specials. Of course right up the street is othe bars to but this one has a really fun atmosphere during the day.

Tequila Barrel Sports Bar and Grill in Playa del Carmen Mexico

This is also just a thought but maybe you could contact the bar and ask them if you have a big group they could cut you a deal to have an open bar for a few hours or maybe the first 5 drinks on you. I know it is not ideal but just a thought. It may be sort of akward to ask guests to have to leave the premises and than on top of that have to pay money to go kill time.

For any older guests and wine lovers there is also SUR Steak House - Playa del carmen Sur steak house

Beware though this place is pricey but the food and drinks and above all the atmosphere are amazing.

Finally my favorite place of all La Tortuga Hotel & Spa Playa del Carmen - La Tortuga Hotel Spa - Playa del Carmen Riviera Maya Mexico

It is only a block a way, I know many of you have heard me talk about it. They have an amazing bar and it is just a little oaisis in the middle of playa. They are always willing to negotiate with a big group so def call them tell them what you are willing to spend and I am sure they can arrange something.

We are doing our first look here and pictures with our bridal party. We were engaged here and I cannot tell you how amazing the service and staff are here.

Hey girls,

So, I'm in the process of drafting my SOD's along with all the necessary info, and I am wondering what type of info you ladies included? Besides the obvious TA info, did you include anything else, or keep it basic? Also, we are having a religious ceremony at home, so I want to include wording that we understand that not everyone will be able to make it to MX, and therefore would love it if they are able to join us celebrate at the religious ceremony at home. Suggestions on wording?

Lastly, so I'm confused re sand ceremony - we are having a symbolic ceremony - are we allowed to have the sand ceremony? I remember reading a post from someone saying that the Royal is not allowing that anymore

i think you can do pretty much whatever you want with a symbolic ceremony, as long as it fits in a 20-30 minute time frame. i have a sand ceremony planned for my symbolic ceremony!

yeah, I have a sand ceremony as well. I also wrote our script for the ceremony as well. Gosh, I hope that ok. On the STD's i included the TA info as well as some prices with an asterik saying these prices are subject to change, obviously. We also wrote a basic intro saying that we were getting married in MX and a little about the property. On the back we wrote our thank you and our understanding that not everyone could make it. So it was pretty informative

right now, we're looking at may 10. it's a monday, we leave on wednesday and have the ceremony on saturday. we still need to schedule with a judge, but just plan on going to a courthouse. we're keeping it as minimal as possible. we hope to just sign the papers; we are not planning on exchanging vows or rings or anything. we want mexico to be the first time for all that stuff so it's as "real" as it can be! we'll have our two witnesses with us, and likely my mom as well (she's pretty emotional and wants to see that part, even though it'll likely take all of 5 minutes AND she's seen me get married before, ha!) i'm not sure if we'll dress up or anything, but probably nothing fancy!

what are your plans?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
