Excellence Punta Cana Brides Thread

Recommended Posts

Ok girls, Austin and I leave for Punta Cana on Sunday with the wedding on Friday. I cannot thank you guys enough for all your advice and help planning. I couldn't have done it without you. I am soo happy with the way everything turned out and cannot wait for the big day to be here. I will take alot of pictures and write my planning thread and review when I get back. I can't believe its here...OMG! I am a little worried cuz it says rain and thunderstorms all week but I am hoping its just the occasional shower here and there. I am trying to be positive and say to myself "You can't control the weather" but I am a little nervous. Any last words of advice for the bride to be?

Can't wait to be Mrs Storms xoxo

Hello Chulzle,

I am considering Excellence this Summer for our wedding, can you give me some details? Are there hidden costs that they don't tell you? Can you have your reception at one of the restaurants without extra charge? Any suggestions or details would be greatly appreciated.

When I was looking into the photographer, it was like August/September of last year, and I didn't get an answer from photosouvenir for weeks and weeks. They kept saying oh we don't have pricing, a few weeks later don't have pricing, a few weeks later, STILL don't have pricing. So I found my photographer, and then around late October photosouvenir contacted me back. They're not cheap, I'll say that, but from others around here who've worked with them they do good work. I'd say hang in there, I know it's annoying because you won't hear anything definite from them for a while.

Do you have pricing for the extras at the resort? They won't send me how much everything costs. They simply keep avoiding those questions. UGH...
They won't even tell me what is included.. .Such as a sound system to play songs as we walk down the aisle. or is dinner at the restaurant included?

Hey Mdb: The wedding packages are posted online. If you cannot find them, PM me your email address and I will send them to you. Also sound system is not included, it is $200 extra!! (bummer I know) and not sure if that applies to having it at the ceremony or not, but I need to check into that too.

Dinner is included for a limited number of guests with the silver and gold packages. Please ask more questions, this thread has been SO helpful to me and I would love to pay it forward :)

wow you girls are all great. This is very helpful. Actually more helpful than the coordinator. : ) How about the chair covers and the sashes for on the chairs, or the aisle for a beach ceremony? and the decorations for the beach? Are they all included in the package? How much extra are they? I also asked the coordinator how much extra it would be if I purchased a cake from a different package other than the excellence. I could probably go on forever! : )

Chair sashes-they have some colors but best to bring your own if you want a specific colorg

Chair cover-Included

Aisle runner-Included

Speaker for ceremony/cocktail hour-we did not pay

Cake-We added an extra layer to a silver level cake and I think it was $30

Flowers for the arbor-Included

Dinner-if you are having a private reception you have a certain number of people included if you get a silver or gold. If not you would have to pay. If you are not having a private ceremony and would like dinner in a restaraunt there is not an additional cost.

MDb-Welcome and congratulations! There is a TON of information in this thread already. It might be helpful to go back and read through what's been written. I think you will find a lot of answers here!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
