Tell me about it! I had so much stuff that it ended up costing me almost $700 in extra baggage fees. Mind you, that was for decor too.

The standard OOT bag etiquette is 1 bag per person and one per couple. If you have a lot of singles with you, the contents are going to get mighty heavy to fly with. If you don't mind your guests knowing about the bags and what's in them, it will save you lots of $$ to split up the contents among your them so that everybody takes a little with them on the plane.

P.S. I should also mention that it was worth the expense and the trouble. EVERYONE used the bags, the mugs and the goodies inside and they were all so very surprised and pleased to have them.

About 12. We only have about 25 people coming, and almost all are couples. Even so, I think I am going to ship all the OOT contents and bags to the hotel - getting married @ Dreams near Cancun.

A little tip...mimimus sells a lot of the travel/trial size things you would need. Everything from snacks to first aid. Most items are less than $1.

I think total I will end up spending about $150. I bought the bags from Target in the $1 bin and besides the snacks, first aid stuff, disposable cameras, beach towels, etc. I'm throwing in some flip flops as soon as Old Navy has their sale. :)

Exactly! We flew with Sunwing and they charge $20 per kilo for anything over the limit. I didn't want everyone to know about the bags, which in retrospect was dumb. They were going to get them anyway, so why botherhuh.gif

Have you checked with the WC at Dreams to make sure it's safe to do this? I contemplated doing this as well, but my WC talked me out of it. We got married at Dreams in Punta Cana, and apparently the postal service is less than stellar ... things go missing ... hmmm.

I cant imagine spending $700 on extra baggage sad.gif Wow.

I hope to spend less than $50 on each bag... but I got the bags at Old Navy and they were almsot $10 each right off the bat. Gor some FREE sunscreen with my Shoppers Optimum points, a few things on Vista print... and still on the prowl for more goodies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
