Over-the-Counter Diet/Weight Loss Pills

Anyone used any that would actually curb your appetite and give you an energy boost without crazy side effects?

I loved the prescription diet pill I was on since it didn't make my heart race and I could still sleep at night. So I'm looking for something not as strong as a prescription that helps along the way.

I have some guy friends who take HydroxyCut, and like it, but they have to take so many pills a day, and I don't want to have to keep remembering to take pills all day long either.

Also, I'm just leery of buying something off the shelf since I'm afraid none of them actually work. Suggestions?

Cool maybe I will try that one. I really just need some appetite curbage. Went to a FRG (Family Readiness Group) meeting today getting ready for our men to return home ... and one of the ladies noticed I'd lost a lot of weight. I haven't been to a meeting in a few months. So it was a nice pump-up to the ego to hear ... but since I'm already starting to see the weight come back on ... and I lack self-control when it comes to alfredo sauce ... anything that might help I am willing to try!bunny_4.gif

I've tried hoodia as well. I've also tried yerba mate. Can't say I saw any drastic weight loss. I think the glass of water they have you take it with curbed my appetite the most. They are natural products tho so I'm down for trying things like that.

You may want to try fish oil capsules (make sure they are high quality and get ones that are flavored like with lemon). Not only is it great for your body (brain, liver, etc.) but it helps aid in weight loss. Try doing a Google search for Fish Oil + Weight Loss

I've been taking fish oil for awhile now and combined with some exercise and moderate reduction in food & alcohol intake I've lost 10+ pounds. I really think the fish oil has aided me in this.

I have taken Lipo-6 to help with craving and give me extra energy to help increase the intensity of my workouts. I think with any of them diet and exercise is a huge part of seeing good results. I have tried quite a few different brands and i would have to say I liked these the best.

Be careful with natural products. They are not regulated or tested & can be dangerous. They can cause side effects with other medication. They can contain something not on the lable that is not good for you. Cancer causing agents can exist in nature so natural doesn't mean it will be safe. Often when these product become popular enough for someone to research them, they get pulled from the market. They also make promises they can't possibly back up and oversimplify the science behind things.

An example is the amino acids they sell in health food stores. Amino acids are naturally occuring, but taking them in a pill form isn't a good idea. You can overload your body with one & create a difficiency in another because the excess is preventing other things from getting into your cells. People will get cold sores when taking particular ones due to the deficiency created.

My favorite appetite suppresant is an apple. Only 81 calories, but so filling. I have one before I eat lunch & I get full much quicker.

I was just going to point that out about the herbal weight loss pills. Unfortunately they do not regulate them the same, and people just see HERBAL or NATURAL and they think it wont hurt them, when in reality they can be just as dangerous. Honestly I think you should stay away from all diet pills. I always remember Oprah saying "If there was a magic pill out there I would have it" and its true. Just try to keep up the good eating and exercising and you will lose the weight!! Best of luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
