Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am EXTREMELY sensitive, even though our wedding is months away.

My fiance's sister is getting married next month, and his brother & sister-in-law are having a baby in Sept (he's 1 of 6, big family) and no one is even acknowledging that we're getting married. I know this is me being a spoiled brat, but is it too much to ask to have them ask me "how's it going?"

It really has me upset.

I am the same right now --- and I feel so guilty to have everyone travel and spend all this money. I guess its b/c people can't get a hold of the crappy TA and today was the last day to pay!! I sent 3 emails URGING people to pay at the latest on Wednesday b/c she was so unreliable. Then they contact me or FI when they cannot get a hold of her today at 12pm.

Don't worry - it'll be your time soon - I actually talked more on this site daily about my wedding than I did weekly to actual live people!!!

Are you doing an AHR or do you expect all of these people to come to Mexico? Just curious b/c we are doing an AHR b/c FI has a big family too (6 kids - even tho some are step) and most of them had kids and therefor eno $ to come to Mexico.

Thanks, I really haven't felt like a bride yet because of them completely ignoring us. I don't even think any of them congratulated us.

We are also doing an AHR, haven't worked any of those details out yet though. My FI's two brother's can't go because the one's wife won't travel with their 2-year old and the other's wife is expecting, so that was how I was able to convince my FI to do it. He thinks it's just another way for us to ask for presents, but I just want to be sure we get to celebrate with everyone.

And - we spent gagillions of dollars on all of these people for their weddings and babies, so why can't I want presents too? angel1.gif

Sara - those are fun! I have a pair I got as a shower gift :)

I feel like I have to be this "bride persona" with everyone else, that I'm beautiful and happy and blah blah blah.

I've started being more honest with people lately and a friend told me to just "keep pretending to be happy for a little while longer" um, why?

I'm sick of this question, "OMG, you're getting married! OMG, it's so soon... are you excited??!?!?!"

My answer, "NO. I'm stressed."

People don't like this answer but tough, hahahaha!!!!

Sara - you're right you should have acknowledgment and feel like a bride, people should be happy for you and want to help you absolutely!

I got a pair at my shower too!

Sara - what? This sounds like a job for your bridal party! Do you think you have someone you can tell that will get the word out or throw you a happy engagement party? Doesnt have to cost a thing - just meet after 5pm for drinks somewhere?!

I think I'm going to buy them for myself wink.gif

We're not having a bridal party. We're very modern and neither of us wanted a wedding party, which worked out perfectly.

His father wanted to throw us an engagement party but my FI is so stinking modest that he doesn't want it to be another "buy me gifts" occasion, since we're doing the DW and the AHR. And we've been engaged since October, so it's a little late for that :)

But, I do have a couple of incredible friends that are getting me excited. I was actually a bridesmaid in one of their weddings 2 weeks ago, and even though she's not an official bridesmaid, she and another girl are excited that my wedding is next and are planning all sorts of stuff. I am so grateful to have them as friends!

Sara - engagement parties don't require gifts at all! Also, engagement parties can be thrown anytime in between the engagement and the marriage :)

I now know why other past brides are so interested in my weddings because anytime a friend gets engaged I 20 question them and they get overwhelmed :)

I know I really shouldn't worry about weather a week away, but it's just a bad day overall so I'm extra sensitive.
Wendy!!!! So excited for you. Just remember, somethings won't be how you imagine it to be. Its all about you commiting your life to someone, not how great the party is!!(mine was super cold and NOT what I fanasized about for months, but I remember the amazing parts!!!)
Beautiful pics help to ease the pain of not having a totally perfect day!") You will be gorgeus!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
