they are great i got mine today as well - ill try and find a picture - love the starfish on yours. I tried some like this but they were all too narrow for me. I am one of the ladies with a 'wider foot' shall we say - lol!!!

Im going bear foot for the cermony my shoes are for the evening and the AHR. As my dress is quite long you will not really see mine.

They dont really show up in the picture so well but very are v dainty - you would not believe how hard it was to find some nice flat shoes. My dress is v plain with a wide band of swarovski crystals just below the bust part.

I finally feel I am getting somewhere with my plans - ie; all the small bits are starting to add up now.

Nicola,

No they don't come in Aqua, only in Black or in White. I ordered them from Zappos.com, because I can't find them in White in Canada, but I've seen the ones in Black in some shoe stores here.

Oh...so many hair style! I haven't decide on which style I would go for yet. But all these styles are so nice and natural. As for the makeup, I think I would opt for smth very neutral, as I don't wanna look a 80s pornstar in pics.

Latest drama, my dad decided he is not coming to my wedding! and my mom is sort of following him. I am very upset (wtf)! He is 51 yrs old, so it isn't a health problem. As they think if they don't come, then they will have the perfect reason to explain to my grandparents why grannies shouldn't come (again...weird logic) I also offered to PAY for their trip (my dad is a very FRUGAL man)...and then my dad thinks I am trying to "outpower" him on his decision (oki, now I think he is...CRAZY/ Psycho).

Bonnie I love you shoes so cute!!

I totally get what your saying. My dad has chosen not to come to my wedding to. I was so hurt/upset when he first told me and i just sat and cried. Then i got more angry and i was embarressed to tell ppl. But i'm coping with it now! I think my dad is being very selfish not coming but there is nothing i can do about it. He is 62 and he says he just cannot do the journey (the flight is to long for him) he has no health issues either! I think it's a cop out but that's just my opinion! My mum however would not miss it for the world. Your mum is probably upset about the whole thing and torn as to go or stay with your dad? I really hope he changes his mind as i know how upsetting it is! x

I am moving on and looking forward to my 13yr old son giving me away and playing grandad for the day, lol......

Josie i can't see your picture?

Well ladies...I don't think I'm going to be a 2011 bride anymore : (

I checked prices yesterday as they were listed for our resort and they are about double than what the travel agent estimated. I can not expect my guests to pay that. The only solution I can think of is moving the wedding up to Nov or Dec. I need to talk to my TA who is out of the office today, because I already have 11 ppl booked with flights and all!

The shoes are not ubber glam but as i say my dress is quite plain with a large band of crystals around the middle and it is grecian style so it v long. I just had such difficulty finding a pair of flat shoes. As i will be bear foot for the ceremony.

Barbiegirl27 - you will be checking and tracking your order constantly - i will be when i get to that stage - you must be really excited. Think you may be the 1st one on here to actually get your dress! (im sure ill be corrected if im wrong :-) )

Bonnie - i feel for you - when people say a DW is the easy option it isnt always as it can cause a lot of heartache as well. Your dad may change his mind and be there but your mum will feel caught in the middle as mums always do. I remember Michelle having this dilemma as well. Not quite the same but my FI sister who is our BM announced to us that she had just fallen pregnant - v unexpected as she hadnt been with her partner long and she is quite young - but her and her partner wanted to bring the newborn baby. It would be 2 months when we go; after a lot of soul searching my FI decided Mexico was not the place for a 2 month old baby what with the heat and the night feeds, what if it got ill etc; not fair on the other guests the 11 hour flight etc etc -it also meant FI brother would have to share a room with the baby - this caused a huge argument in the families as they thought we were being unsympathetic and selfish - it only got resolved a few weeks ago and now we are all happy families for the time being. So although i didnt have the same issue as you i do know how families can throw your 'expected' plans into disarray but i think for a father not to come if they are healthy and money is not the issue is hurtful. I dont think it is neccessarily selfish as they may think a DW is selfish - time is a great healer but if you have a good relationship with your dad - please dont let it ruin that for the long term.

FututreMrsYak - Who was it that said a DW wedding was easy! Thats terrible - its not like its just a holiday - its a wedding so you cant keep leaving it in the hope that the prices go down. I know November can be a bit hit and miss with the weather as it is the end of hurricance season but we toyed with the idea of early Dec and it was a bit cheaper than Jan. I really hope you get it sorted please let us know how you get on.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
