As far as I know you should still get the perks of having your wedding there. We met some people who had their paper fall through and were getting married the day after me. She had the same gold wrist band and said she got all the perks still.

Cool! Can't wait to hear about it!! Do your guests know that you'll be doing the legal stuff at home?

Did you do the legal? Sorry if you already answered... I should go back and look first! What's with the gold wrist band... is that something just for those getting married??

Nope, only a couple do in our wedding party and that's it. We're going to play dumb and tell people (if they ask) that we didn't realize until the last minute that it wasn't a legal ceremony so that we got it done at home just before we left! hehehehe cheesy.gif

well i finally just narrowed down my ceremony music choices. it took me forever...but i think i got songs that aren't going to make me bawl my eyes out *knock on wood* and that my guests will like too.

that list of things to do...is slowly getting smaller ... 12 days til we leave! can't wait!

just waiting to hear on 5 more people if they are actually booking. we have way more people coming than we ever expected...should be a blast!

i have to say karla has been great to work with. answers all my questions within 24hrs.

Hey ladies... this thread is getting SOOOO long, do you think we should provide some FAQs for GBP at the beginning? Maybe like the current packages, spa and flower info, WC contact, stuff like that? I'd be happy to help pull some of it together, but I'm not sure how we get the mods to update the first page.

I think that's a great idea... when I joined a hundred or so pages ago it took me forever to read through everything... I think at FAQs section would really help the newbies get info fast. How to go about that??

I would be more than happy to help condense things too. I can talk with the mods.

As for my wedding, i did it legally down there. But it was our first wedding so it was super easy. The couple we talked to had a divorce mixed in there, so that's why they married at home. With the apostile and everything needed they just said it was easier that way... plus then they didn't have to give blood.

As for the gold wrist bands, I guess they were to tell people we were royalty? LOL!! No, from what I could gather, those with gold wrist bands were kind of VIPS. I saw that wedding couples and handicapped individuals had them (my uncle's girlfriend had brain cancer and was in a wheel chair for my wedding, so she had a gold one as well).

No worries! You get the same treatment and ammenities regardless of your ceremony type. It's not too late to change your choice of ceremony to Symbolic...just simply tell Jazmin what you want. Try not to stress...I know, easier said than done. Things will work out great and you will wonder why you stressed! Hang in there!

Alright ladies, I'm compiling the main resource for this thread. I've worked my way through page 25... and I'll continue until done.

However, for the sake of my brain, could anyone send me the most recent information they have on the types of ceremonies, the cost for the spas, and the photographer.

And if you have anything else such as the bouquet pictures, etc that you think other brides would find helpful, feel free to send that to me too!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
