Kiara is my WC too, I love her, she's been great through this whole process but I know what you mean, as of late it's far between the responses she sends me. She told me they finally hired another coordinator and she was training them and in the same week her computer died like 3 times. So just know that, she's such a sweetheart! I agree with the emails, evidence! You better believe I'm printing out a grip of 'em to bring with :)

Thanks!! I decided on a Sparkling White "Swangria" Sangria but I have a bird theme and this makes me laugh :)

I am also doing a sparking limeaid for my ceremony welcome drink. Can you tell I like all things bubbly?

They do, I asked Kiara about this and she gave me the price which was around $100+.

I bought a portable steamer off amazon that is compact and like $20 to bring with me. I plan to carry on my dress so I'm hoping it doesn't get too wrinkled.
"Swangria" how funny! Gave me a good chuckle...nice play on words! I too was looking at doing a white wine sangria, but have yet to think of a good name. I don't have much of a theme yet either...

Great idea about the travel steamer. This beats $100!!!

I'm finding that all of the documents (that I have to search for to find myself) conflict with each other. WTH?
Yes - and there were like 4 different catering option menus floating around too. My suggestion is to get everything on your wedding sheet and negotiate with the people in Mexico to ensure you get what you want. I find my own TA (Tiffany) goes in waves where she is super responsive and then not at all. Probably when they are dealing with other issues. I always go for the phone rather than email as well. At work I have the same deal - I call people before I would email - I find a lot can get lost in translation over typing for most people. Otherwise, I found that being on this site w/ these girls I got better, more "real" answers to what I was looking for anyways!!!

Sweet Wendy I hope thats the case.

Such a surprise but I think Wendy's price seems more reasonable given it is Mexico. Getting a dress streamed in MD is $15 so $13 sounds OK and $100 is like what some dresses freaking COST! lol

Thats Crazy!!! I am from Howard County - left when I was 18 but my sister had a baby over Xmas and I didn't want to make her travel w/ the little one.

OMG LOVE the picture!! That is too funny. I've been anxiously awaiting your return to hear all about your weekend.

For the gifts, I am of the opinion that you don't have to do them. But since it's tradition to give wedding party and parent gifts, I would say it depends on your crowd.

Since we're not getting help financially for the wedding, we don't feel the need to give gifts. Plus we feel like we're being awfully generous taking everyone sailing. With the exception of our moms (who are sappy b/c all moms are that way), we just don't think our parents are going to miss a gift from us. They certainly wouldn't want anything with our wedding date/names on it! LOL. They're just not those kind of people. But again, depends on the crowd.

Haha, thanks! I suggest making your own and adjusting to taste then giving them the recipe. I did that and it didn't seem to be an issue.

Well I took your advice on this one and I asked my WC, Tiffany. She said that they would have to charge me for a signature drink. Bummer. Especially because I am doing the Sky Package, cocktail party and private recepetion. I guess it shouldn't surprise me at all that they told you one thing and me another.

Also, on the amenity sheet they sent me I think dress pressing is listed as $10.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
