Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hi Normajeanne77! I'm still new on this system so still trying to figure it out. Congrats to you! We booked back in November when we stayed there and met with Ana to discuss the specifics of what we wanted. We are getting married at 4:00 PM. We booked the Gazebo but we were thinking of changing this to the beach so knowing that yours is right after, I don't want to feel rushed so our mind is made up and we will choose the beach ceremonie. Our dinner/reception is also on the beach but the will put us in a private spot so we will be far enough away from eachother. It's strange to think that we are sharing the same wedding day but I'm sure we will have a blast. Looking forward to meeting you! We are ariving on April 7th!

This is what Ana sent me for the menu. I don't have anything on the cakes...I was hoping someone else would post these.

Thanks ladies. And yes I contacted Ivan, thank goodness he responds to his emails and could put my mind to rest. Our date was still available so he marked it down as now busy, prior to even receiving the request from Ana so that he doesnt get double booked - Whew! and what great service!

I noticed you are getting married on the same day as me..
Do you mind if I ask what time your ceremony and reception are?
I'm curious, because I booked our wedding back in October for 5:30 at gazebo. Our dinner/reception are on the pool deck from 6:30 to 9:30 and we are having live music and firedancers on the beach...
I really hope Ana did not book 2 weddings at the same time of day and 2 receptions in the same place..
You and I will be raising some hell with Ana if that is the case..
Please tell me it isn't?
Ana just quoted me USD 800 for 20 min. and USD 1000 for 40 min. of firedancers - did you get the same thing from her? Do you have any pictures or discreption as to what it means? I have followed up with her, but we all know how that goes :)

Thanks for the menu options.

What has everyone decided to go with? When am I supposed to know what to pick? Before I go for the wedding or when I meet with Ana? So confused

My wedding is coming up and I have nothing planned with Ana.smile27.gif

Ok ladies. Since it appears as though a lot of answers cannot get answered until I actually arrive for the wedding and can meet with Ana (because a site visit is not possible for me) I am trying to figure out the things that I MUST have figured out before I get there. That way I can just focus on getting those answers from Ana and won't sweat the other stuff. Opinions on what those would be? I am thinking:

1. The wedding location

2. The reception location

3. The ceremony Script (so I have time to make revisions)

4. Available decorations (in case I need to bring my own)

5. I am going to use DRC photographer, but do I have to have the exact package figured out?

Wedding location and reception location - Depends if anyone else as booked on your day. If no one else is booked that day - dont worry about it till you get there, while I've seen some great pictures, it is so hard to tell until you can stand in the space. If there is someone else is booked on your day (unfortunately Ana is the only one who can tell you this) - then you might try to decide now so she can make a note of it. On my site visit she did tell me that if two parties want the beach deck, it will go to the larger of the two.

Ceremony Script - If this is something that's important for you by all means go to work! I know they have some options, but will also accomodate whatever you bring.

Decoration - I know they have some tiki tourches, and lots of flower options for the ceremony site as well as tables center pieces ($$). She has lots of flower options so just bring pictures with you of what you like and she'll get it done (again at a cost). But if you have something specific you want, best plan to bring it. They do have chair sashes but the price seemed out of line to me.

Photog - Don't worry about it till you are there.

It freaked me out at first, waiting to make all these decisions. But after meeting with Ana, I have complete faith.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
