Are you guys talking directly to Luis? I have been dealing with Allibe, and she has been wonderful so far, and very quick to respond to emails..
Happy Planning!
Congrats!! We have been dealing directly through Luis.

Is she the wedding coordinator you guys are using?

I'm so excited yet nervous to have the contract! There were many mistakes in the first one and this revised one looks much better.
Did you have anything in yours in case of natural emergencies, epidemics, or power outages?

Thanks!!

Congrats to everyone who is working on their contract! Was everything priced separately or was there any base 'package' that you built off of? I'd love to know if there were any surprises or things that I should look out for...I'm going on my site visit and plan to start working on a contract in the beginning of May.

I must feel GREAT to have everything falling into place!!!

Hi girls...another quick question:

Were personal flowers (bouquets, bouts) included at all or were they priced separately. I'm planning to do real touch for these things but didn't want to be paying twice if it was somehow already worked into the wedding price.

They are personal friends of ours. My FI works with the videographer (they are in advertising) and the photographer is an associate of the videographer. Our DJ is an old friend of my FI's. We lucked out having connections....this has saved us some money. We are simply renting the DJ equipment from a vendor while we are there.

Hi ladies! I suggest just using the DJ vendor for equipment that Luis uses. You get a 10% discount and their is something about if you wire cash to the hotel and don't charge you avoide like a 10% tax/service fee which you will find is hidden when you try to contract outside. Also you don't have to worry about another company just dropping off and picking up the equipment. This guy stays the whole time to make sure nothing goes wrong, also.

Same goes for flowers, when you do a site visit, Luis will have the florist/decor person come. Just bring pictures of what you want. Pricing was very competitive. One of the advantages of using the contacts that Luis has is that you do all of your meetings in less than 2 hours, wire transfer one chunk of money and Luis handles everything else. When you are trying to enjoy your wedding day and event it is nice not to worry about anything else.

As always, thanks for the great advice Ash. Our site visit is a year before our wedding so I've been thinking of it mostly in terms of booking the resort and checking out the venues for ceremony, cocktail, reception. Sounds like I need to get some decor pics together as well!

One more question for you Ash...did you have any trouble with the timeshare push at HTR? I've been reading a lot of concerns about this on TripAdvisor recently. I try to avoid TA but sometimes I can't help myself.

Your information is always so helpful!! Can you please let us know how much we should expect to pay for centerpieces, bouqets, etc?

Also - is there a hair/make-up person that is good with good pricing?

Thanks!!

Hi Ana: I'll let Ash chime in and be the voice of experience but I thought I'd let you know that I just contacted Fernando Fuentes from the Makeup Pros who I'm pretty sure is who Ash used for her wedding as well. Every pic that I've seen of his work on BDW has been amazing and he's been really great in communication so far. He is even coming to the resort so we can meet in person while I'm there on my site visit. He's not super cheap but I figure that having good hair and make-up is one of the most important things.
I'll look through my email to see if I can find the pricing list he sent me.

The prices for the bridesmaids/moms/friends hair is pretty good!

I'm going to take a look on the forum to see if they have any pictures.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
