They are still my friends, but we don't see each other all the time. Anyway, we decided to have it at Matt's parents house cuz we could possibly add back people that we cut. I was wondering if anyone has done this type of party and what the cost was. We want it to be nice, but not formal. Matt is supposed to be finding this info out, which is why I don't know, and I am trying not to step on his toes and let him do it, but it's driving me crazy. Sorry, this post is kinda all over the place.

that is so funny -"down the shore" - only the diehard PA/NJ people are going to get that ;-)

I know, I would much prefer a small party (hence the fact we choose an DW!), but my FFIL is one of 11 siblings, my dad is one of 7 and my mom is one of 6, his mom just has 2 sisters, but they all have a few kids (our ages) as well. We both have pretty large groups of friends that we managed to stay in touch with, so it's hard to cut it down. Also, since my FFIL is from Italy, and has family is Australia and New Zealand, it appears that extended family likes to attend functions as well, when they can.

I feel you Carly - marrying into a huge family myself! And his family from Trinidad, England, Ireland, Canada, etc all usually travel for things like weddings - and most plan on attending our AHR. Argh! Maybe we could combine forces and have our own ginormic UN-type gathering! haha!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
