ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

We have 37 people booked, besides us. Yes, she is being truley selfish. I told her that too. She said she would go but she isn't happy about it. It doesn't make it any easier. Having divorced parents on both sides, who don't get a long is really tough. I'm not going to deal with it that day though, I really can't.

We have another friend who can take his place, it is just an akward situation to bring up so late in the game.

50 days and counting!

Can you not pay the diff since you get these items in your package anyways or do you still have to pay the full amount for these upgrades?
I have talked to Angie about this and she said that if I wanted a Couture cake that I would have to pay the price as is, there is no "upgrading fee". You could still get the cake that is included too, they won't give you a discount. And also, I was told that even if I got one of their three layered cakes reduced to 2 layers, I would still have to pay the full price (180-250 depending on the cake). I think we'll stick with the free cake.

Also, Angie told me that you can substitute the roses for any bouquet that is $80 in the standard bouquet brochure, and they can change the colours of the flowers no problem.

Agreed. It really sucks. I'm such a flower and cake person but their prices are such a rip off and you have to say no somewhere. sad.gif Do yall think the stardard cake will feed 25 people?

Thanks! I guess I'm going to have to stick to the free cake too and maybe just add real flowers :o)

Good to hear that we can change the roses!

There are just sooo many extra costs that I didn't realize in the begining that now I have to see which ones I really want.

Hello Ladies...My FI and I are putting the deposit down today for our wedding at the RPDC :)) May 14, 2011 Yay!!

Oh yeah and NOW my parents both decided to tell me this isnt what they want to pay for...Im being selfish and asking way to much for guest to "vacation" to attend our wedding. sad.gif Seriously why did they wait to say this once we finalize things?? Im so upset BUT FI and I are set this is what we want...Its our wedding.

I have a feeling this is just the beginning of the DRAMA....I wanted DW to avoid all this, but I guess sometimes its unavoidable.

We just ordered the couture cake, does anyone know if these melt? Will they keep this cake outside for all guests to see ? or do they bring it out the last min. righ before you are to cut the cake?

Our wedding is a month away! 73 people booked and confirmed! can't wait!

I HATE the free cakes. It's stupid.

I read that most of times, guests will be too full to eat cake i wouldn't recommend upgrading the cake. A small cake will be fine.

FI's one of groomsmen bailed so he asked another friend to step in. One of his best mans is avoiding his phone calls/texts so we're counting him out for the wedding.

Mrs.G, I understand that is tough but you really should do what you and your FI do. At first, my FI's family gave us hard time but now they're on board.

Di- I thought the best man that was giving you trouble booked his trip finally?

And to Mrs. G2B- You need to have the wedding you want, not what everyone else wants. You just have to be okay with the possibility that you may end up with very few guests and no parents. I only have 13 people coming and my dad isn't going. It is just going to be a small group of friends and my mom. I am ok with that now. It is still the wedding I want and I am happy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
