On a sidenote - question for you wonderful ladies - how many weddings can Dreams have in a day? I thought I had been told two but I think there are three weddings on my day...and I was going to email Ana but I don't really want to wait 4 weeks for a response...
Do any of you have a phone number for me to call her?

Thanks!
Casey

The phone number that I have reached Ana on is: 0115219988729200.

I have that Bose - love it! That's a super good idea to bring it with me and use it for our welcome party :) yay thanks!

We're using a DJ for the wedding - it was really a personal choice. I know a lot of people use ipods, there are always articles about it being a growing trend in wedding magazines and it's a great way to save money. I have panic attacks, mini melt downs and sometimes really big meltdowns hahaha so for my sanity, we decided it was worth the extra money. That way I absolutely don't have to stress out about technical difficulties and making sure we have the right music, enough music etc. I left the music up to my fiance and he had to put together an entire playlist...I'd be terrified about what would be playing...hahaha

Thanks for the phone number!

The rose bouts came with the Ultimate package - I think maybe Ana told me $25 each if I wanted extra?? Don't quote me on that because I don't really remember! The rose bouquets were $60 each - I know that for sure!

I was also extremely worried about this before I went! One more thing that I shouldn't have stressed about though! The kids that were there were really well behaved and I did not feel at all like they were taking over the resort. There was plenty of room at the pools and on the beach. There was more than enough room in the jacuzzis for everyone. I was there at the same time as Carina and the resort was at full capacity. Don't stress about it...you and your guests will love it there!!!

Did you upgrade your bouquets? I am doing the Ultimate Package to and I thought the bouquet was included.

I am having the same issue. At first I thought I totally didn't want to spend the money but now I am having second thoughts. I want it to feel like a reception and don't know what it would be like with an ipodhuh.gif? Will we be missing out?We are probably going to have around 30 people attending(is that too small for a dj)?

I also have a bose ipod docking station...maybe I should just use this??AHHH help....

Laura and Carina,

I know you both had your own photographers (and also used the resort photographers as supplemental...) but would you have trusted the resort photographers for the entire weddinghuh.gif (i understand it would be an additional cost outside of the package because you'd probably need to add a few hours). Just looking for advice.

Laura and Carina,

I'm sure you are getting tired of all the questions! I have a few questions:

1. Did you have a sand ceremony? If so, did you bring your own vase or rent one from the resort?

2. Did you meet with your officiant prior to the wedding?

3. Did you use the resort's ceremony script or did you have your own?

4. Did you create menu cards?

I'm sure I have a lot more questions, but those are the most recent one's that I have been thinking of.

Thanks!

LOL I did the same thing in Target the other day. And it is loud. I think we are going to go with this option. I can not see spending the amount of money they want for the DJ. But I do not want to have to worry with it.

My only thing that I want to find out is if you can hook a microphone up to the bose system. Because I really would like a microphone for speaches and the the wedding ceremony.

Help! My mother in law just went on a site visit to DRC this past week that she booked behind my back (another long story!). And she is claiming that it was "freezing" there and that it is far too cold that time of year to have an outdoor wedding. I am getting married January 15th, 2011, and she is telling my FI for us to change the wedding because our guests will be miserable. I have already sent out STD's and some of our guests have booked air. I have been to Mexico in February several times and never thought it was cold, but a little windy at night. I was planning on handing out Pashminias anyways.

Does anyone think that mid January it will be too cold to get married on the beach and have an evening reception on the pool deck? Did anyone have any complaints when they got married on the pool deck that it was too cold or too windy? Or has anyone gone to Riviera Maya in January?? I have been trying to google the temperatures and it is coming up 83 high, 63 low and that doesn't seem too cold. I need advice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
