Our wedding is at 4pm. We will be at Dreams until the 26th morning- then we are going to Secrets Maroma for our honeymoon!

Oh that is just ridiculous! I find I can still get an email once a week / every two weeks. I usually send an email (I have began to compile questions though and send a couple at once). Then if there is no response in one week, I send another email as a 'friendly' reminder. Once I did go above Ana to the Sales Manager I believe, and got 2 emails from her within 24 hours after that but now back to weekly. It is ridiculously frustrating, I have been planning this thing for 5 months!! Only 7+ months to go.

On a separate note, have any of the ladies been able to get a room upgrade. We are fine but my grandparents got the garden view room, we splurged just a little got the basic ocean view room. I was hoping to have them upgraded to ocean view or ocean front would be even better – has anyone had much luck with this?

Boo I have not heard from her in weeks either.

But as for the upgrade I can not remember if you have a TA or not? But I posted on the forum on how to get your room upgraded. There is something called a VIP letter that a TA can write for you to give to the resort. I will look for the post tomorrow and put it on here. If you do not have a TA you would think they would upgrade us for making us brides be some stressed out. lol But I do not see that happening. smile27.gif

Question for you all who have had their wedding there... How is cocktail hour set up?? With tables?? Decorated at allhuh.gif
I had my cocktail hour at Desires. It was not really decorated but I didn't really care about that because there wouldn't have been much to decorate anyway. I saw a few other weddings while I was there. One cocktail hour I saw was in the grass, to the right of the barefoot grill (if you are coming from the beach). That one had red and pink linens on the tables but I didn't notice any other decorations. The bright linens looked really pretty though in the grass. Another wedding I saw had the cocktail hour on the pool terrace. There were just white linens on the cocktail tables and no other decorations. I wouldn't have been a huge fan of this location for myself because it was very very public.

Laura did you get the complimentary room the night before your weddinghuh.gif and what is the honeymoon package??
I didn't get the complimentary room because the resort was at full capacity sad.gif It really would have been nice to have that room the next day as an extra room to get ready in. You get the honeymoon package for free if you book 7 or more nights in a preferred club room (if you don't do this, then it costs $799). I don't remember everything that was included but some of the things were...a candlelight dinner on the beach, a facial and body scrub at the spa, breakfast in bed, a beautiful flower arrangement, champagne and fruit upon arrival (we got this twice!). It was really nice! We had a lot of fun doing all of our honeymoon package stuff :)

The remainder of your wedding balance is due before the wedding. When you have your meeting with Ana when you get down there (set-up the meeting time before you get there though!), bring your final payment...she will ask you for it after you go over all of the wedding details.

Me too :) Ie. the VIP letter - I do have a TA but only a handful have booked with her, I think most of the rest of our guests, who havent booked yet, will do so thru expedia.ca and the like. Funny we invited about 80 people at first I expected 50, now I dunno, maybe it will only be like 20 people attending, I know its tough because it is their holiday and considerable money etc. but we had initially wanted to just do a small wedding by like a hawaiin waterfall and then go to europe for our honeymoon, now we are spending 2 weeks in Mexico (which is fine) so that we may make it affordable for our guests and if no one comes still very upsetting sad.gif sorry just needed to get that out of the way

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
