Honestly, now that I've done it, I wouldn't even consider something at home. And for those idiots causing you stress.... you won't miss them if they don't end up coming. I didn't even miss the fact that we had NO parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles.... it didn't matter and still doesn't. Don't worry, I'm positive you'll feel the same way :)
Thank you for saying that, it really does make me feel a lot better. It seems that I'm right where you are, really hurt and just not happy. I have come close to eloping I want to say over a dozen times now and kick myself every time some more people drama comes up and if I had thought of it in time before anyone had booked would have scrapped the whole shebang.

I know I'll have a blast and won't regret it afterwards... but at this point I can't imagine having my wedding in Mexico was worth a falling out with some of what were my closest friends. I'm brought to tears everytime I talk about it, I'm just miserable!

Happy Monday! Is there such a thing? My brother's been in town and I'm finally catching up on everything.

Crista Lee, so sorry to hear about the trouble you had! And through a text of all things!! You're doing a great job of rising above and focusing on the positives!

Same for you AmyKH! Don't let this get you down or make you doubt your decision to have a DW. You're going to have a wonderful wedding and all of these pre-wedding troubles will seem a distant memory. If your friends can't handle you having a DW, that is THEIR loss! I think any of us girls would jump on the chance to come to your wedding to support you and your new hubby!! grouphug.gif Your friends aren't focusing on the big picture and most importantly, have forgotten that this is YOUR wedding.

after calming down and having the weekend to think it over, I've decided not to do anything about it (yet) as I don't want to start a row with someone who I NEED to feel comfortable around and with on Wednesday. I'm annoyed though as when I was booking with her I had to change the dates and explained it was because my friend wasn't free then, so she knew then about me bringing someone.

sooooooo.... that means I have to drive myself there which then means I can't have a drink!!! arrrggghhh!! still, I'm sure it will all be fine anyway, just annoying it's not working out how I thought it would.

I'm with AmyKH on this one, ask nicely for one friend to join you. Saying you need help with outfits probably won't be far from the truth. Besides, it's YOUR shoot. If you need to have someone there then you should be allowed to!

oh girls, I know exactly how you all feel - I have at more occasions than I care to remember contemplated sodding everyone else off out of it and just going me and FI. then there's been the occasions when I've debated just not getting married at all.

all I'll say is that this is what we all decided we wanted to do, so we should trust our decisions, and sod anyone who puts a dampener on it.

we only get this experience once, let's make the most of it and make it as happy as we can :)

That is great advice, Katie, to trust our decisions! It WILL ALL BE GREAT!!!

Many, many times we've considered scrapping the whole thing and putting all the $$ we're spending toward one, fantastic honeymoon! Lol, while that'd be one way to go, I know we'll be happy as soon as we touch down in Mexico and are surrounded by the people who wanted to share our day with us.

Damn girl!!! You are seriously rockin' this out, I need to shake off my funk so I can spring back into action. I've been so depressed, diet and exercising died for most of the week. I'm determined to get back into it today.

That was really very close to what my plans almost were... A month in Europe, going crazy =) The good news is, the people really booked and commitment and stir crazy with excitement, that always helps me calm down a bit.

Thank you!!! I really love it and I didn't want everything to be too matchy matchy.

Good luck, let us know how it goes! I can't imagine why she wouldn't let you bring anyone.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
