Thanks Sunbride for continuing to update this thread. I know it is a lot of work for you, but it is VERY appreciated!!!

Thanks AchiCA. Maybe she hasn't responded because my date is still several months away. It gives me hope that when my date is only a couple of months away they will be really on top of thingswink.gif
From reading previous posts, I believe Aurora is an assistant. I am not sure anyone has actually dealt with her beyond pre-wedding prep emails and such.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Aurora about the email i sent 6 days ago and my wedding is in 5 weeks!!!

Needless to say, she better respond soon!! I just sent her a reminder letting her now I still haven't heard from her. I'm trying to get a rough estimate on how much everything may cost so i know how much money to put aside. uurrrggghhh

Also, I finally posted the link to our pro photographer's entire gallery. I was thinking that it might be helpful for brides to see the lighting/darkness in our photos by the relaxed pool. The link is now in my signature, but this is it, too:

Kristina and Matt Presented By http://www.leografia.com/

In these pics, you'll be able to see pictures from:
- Our welcome dinner at DT's Caribbean party which includes tons of pics from the fire dancer show (under "day before").
- Our cocktail hour at the Patio Terrace (at the beginning under "reception")
- The lighting at our relax pool-side reception ("Reception")
- I'll give a warning that some pictures near the end of the "reception" folder will seem strange for a wedding reception. It downpoured rain at our outdoor reception (right after our first dances) and we had 42 crazy/loving guests with us. Near the end of the pics, we are drenched! Some guests were already soaked, so they jumped in the pool, someone rescued our cake (which we ate with our hands at El Patio) and then we all moved to the disco to dance the night away (so you can also also see photos of what "Desires" the disco looks like). It was strange and not as we planned it, but it was our wedding (and I loved it as it was).

Thanks for posting the link to your pictures! I am having my reception by the adult pool so I have a better idea now of the set up and the lighting situation.

Oh no!! I'm sorry jerzygirl. BangHead.gif
Maybe try copying that email to some of the other WC/assistants that we have email addresses for on the first page. I hope you hear from her soon.

Oh geez...well another note- when Aurora responded to me, her email was very short. It wasn't the usual full email "Dear Amanda..." she just responded with "half day" and that's it! So she may be very busy right now, and more complicated questions, e.g. how much money should I bring?, requires her more time/calculating to respond =) so no worries!

Jerzygirl- you are getting married SO SOON!!! That's so exciting... I am having my reception at the adult pool as well, and as I'm sure you've read I am having panic attacks regarding the lighting situation lol. Could you PLEEEAAASE send me pics when you get back?! xo

Hi Shiela. We were given a discount by the Dreams Riviera Cancun team for our site visit in December 2009...I'm so glad we went, as it helped us make our decision to move the wedding to Dreams Tulum (we stayed at DRC and visited Dreams Puerto Adventuras and Tulum). It was appx. 20--25% off the regular price + tax per day.

They are really sweet and understanding...and more than willing to work with you, but you need to push sometimes. :)

Just call them, email is a harder way to get what you need.

xo,

tara

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
