Sam, I would definitely email them. They provide two word documents for you to fill out. (if legal). One if not. It has all the wedding details and flowers and cake...and the goods.

That is so true about the dresses some people pick out on Say Yes to the Dress. You live in NY, did you ever go to Kleinfeld's? I would just want to go to have Randy help me!

So I don't know about everyone else, but it sounds like alot of our guests are starting to get really good deals on travel. We now have a total of 39 people!!
Nope, I never did Kleinfelds. I went to other NYC places but I felt if I fell in love with a $2500 dress I would be soooo upset, because I would never buy a $2500 dress. So I would always be thinking of that one. Soooo...I never put myself in that position, I knew I would find the dress of my dreams in my price range. =)

It would be nice though to sip Champagne and try on dresses =)

I guess I never really thought about falling in love with a dress you can't have. It is so crazy to see some of the budgets those girls have!! Even though it wasn't Kleinfeld's I LOVE my bridal shop and had an awesome experience there. Can't wait to go back in April and see my dress after it's been altered.

So I'm starting to finally feel like a bride now too because some of my work friends threw me a surprise bridal shower this weekend. I usually don't mind being the center of attention, but it felt so weird having everyone giving me gifts. It was a beautiful shower and I got lots of fun stuff!! I had been wondering why so many things had been bought off my registry when my family shower isn't until April 10th.

Hope everyone is enjoying their planning. For a few of us its only going to last about 2-3 more months =(

We still have to fnalize the date with them so u guys r way ahead of us. Our guests will be staying at the Maya/Lindo. I will keep everyone posted with details. Good luck.
Pujo,

Sorry to butt in on your convo, but I just booked the Lindo for our wedding today! In fact, this is my first post on BDW.

I was told by my TA that the only venue for a private reception is Lindo's cajun restaurant for $1100 plus an unspecified "open bar fee." I was disappointed that this was the only option.

Any input on this? If La Brisa is an option, I certainly want to look into this.

Reyna in the Sales Dept just confirmed my date today and said I will be dealing directly with the WC's at the Lindo going forward. Their names are Lili Perez and Mayra Ramirez. Is this who you have been working with?
if so, have you found them helpful?

Hi. I am getting married at Maya on 11/12/10. I was also told the Cajun restuarant is the only option for private dinner reception. I was told if you bought the Dream package this was included free of charge. The open bar fee seems to be $13.00 per person (i say seems as it is hard to get anyone to confirm this amount).

I was told La Brisa is part of Grand. If I wanted to have my reception there I would have to pay 125.00 per guest not staying at the Grand plus an additional per person fee over that. I never received that amount as I have kids coming (not allowed at La Brisa) and I do not want to spend that kind of money (I will have around 60 people not staying at Grand).

Leah, I am so glad you got a nice shower at work. That is really sweet of your co-workers. People will always surprise us =)

I can't wait to see a picture of your dress...I am sure it is perfect for you.

We had our first cancellation due to the violence in Mexico (west coast) but she was someones guest so it's okay...we didn't even know her. Other than that...things are GREAT!

Lisanicole- Can I ask what the Dream package includes and what the price is? Also, have you see the Cajun restaurant? the pictures I have been able to find on the web don't give me a good idea of what the room looks like.

Are you having a DJ or band at the Cajun as well or does dancing have to be done elsewhere?

I really like pics I've seen of a bride's wedding at the Del Mar's Italian restaurant, and I know you can do your entire reception in that venue -- which is important to us.

Do you happen to know if Lindo brides can have their reception at the Del Mar?

Tara, You can stay at the Lindo and have the ceremony and reception at the Del Mar. That is what we are doing. It works out nice too because then our guests can stay at the Del Mar which is a little less expensive. You will however have to work with the wedding coordinator at the Del Mar and book your wedding through them.

If you are able to do a private reception at the Lindo that would be great! I think if I would have known that before I might have considered getting married at the Lindo instead. Though I do LOVE the Gazebo at the Del Mar.

The Dream package is $5,000 (if you have legal ceremony). It includes the 4 hour dinner reception, welcome cocktail party and alot of other stuff. I have the list if you want me to email it to you send me your email address. I can also send pictures of the Cajun rest. that I was sent (a few with reception set up). We are having the dinner and dancing all at the Cajun. We hired DJ Bob for the full 4 hours. It was very important to me that dinner and dancing all take place in the same venue. I did not want my guests taking a trolly from dinner to reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
